Hi Everyone!
About an hour ago our Kickstarter campaign ended, and we are thrilled to announce that we came in at almost 10% over our goal with 98 backers! We can't tell you all enough how much we appreciate your support! We've been astounded at the generosity of everyone from friends, to family, to neighbors, to people from around the country who have never even tried our food. We will try our best to make Homeroom the special place we have envisioned-- and we really couldn't do it without your support-- so thank you!
We plan on posting frequently on our website to keep you all informed on how the restaurant is coming along. We are just awaiting the final stamp of approval from the city so that we can break ground in the next few weeks, and we'll try to document everything from building the restaurant to the cheeses we're going to cook with, so you can see what your donation helped create.
We're doing a lot of mobile food events (come visit us and say hello if you live nearby!) as we build out the space, and have gotten amazing feedback from people already. The Cooking Channel gave us a call to film an episode of an upcoming show at the restaurant (we hope it'll be ready in time!!!), a rep from Whole Foods dropped by an event and is interested in carrying our mac and cheese, and we got nominated as one of the most exciting food businesses in the US by DailyCandy! And we haven't even opened yet :)
So overall, we're feeling incredibly overwhelmed and excited, and we can't wait to open up shop in a few short months so we can sit down over some mac and cheese with you all.
Until then, we hate to ask for any more favors, but we'd love it if you all could vote for us in the DailyCandy competition. If we win, we'll get $10,000 towards building the restaurant, which would obviously be incredible. You can vote daily, which frankly, is pretty annoying. But if you feel so inclined, here's where you go:

Thanks again for all the support. We couldn't do Homeroom without you-- so thanks for making mac happen!
Cheers,
Erin and Allison
Hi folks-- it just got brought to our attention that for those of you who don't like voting through Facebook, here's the link to the DailyCandy website for voting:

Thanks again!
Hi everybody!
Today two tremendously exciting things happened:
1) We hit our Kickstarter goal!
2) We were nominated as one of the top 4 new food businesses in America by DailyCandy!
The best part about it is that you all get to vote on who will be the #1 business, and if we win, we get $10,000 for building the restaurant, plus loads of great publicity from DailyCandy to help make Homeroom even more successful when it opens.
Since you all are a committed part of the Homeroom family, we'd love it if you could log on to vote:
http://www.dailycandy.com/startsmallgobig/vote.html
You can vote once a day, which means that all of us together could be almost 1700 votes!
Regardless of whether or not we're named #1 food business in America, we certainly feel like it based on all of the love and support we've gotten from all of you. Thanks so much for making our Kickstarter goal happen, and we'll continue to keep everyone posted on all the exciting things we're doing to make your gift turn Homeroom into a reality!

With one week left to go in our Kickstarter campaign, we are thrilled to be about $500 away from our goal and are focusing on how we intend to celebrate... with beer. We just put a new post up on our website about picking brews for the restaurant, and we'd love to know what you all would like to see us carry since we'll be sharing a pint with many of you when we open our doors:

We also just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has donated-- we've been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of our families, friends, neighbors, and total strangers who have emerged to make our project possible. We really feel like you are all a part of what will make Homeroom a special place, so definitely give us feedback along the way for what you'd like to see because it's your restaurant too now.
Thanks again!
