Crossroads 2013 Announced

Update #6 · Mar 8, 2013 · comment

Greetings!

Thanks to your help the San Francisco Cinematheque was able to present the 3rd annual Crossroads Festival last year. Those of you who were able to attend know how much wonderful work was screened. For those of you who were not able to make it but still donated to our Kickstarter campaign, thank you. We hope you will join us this year.

The 4th annual Crossroads Festival will take place at the Victoria Theater from April 5th to the 7th. The full program can be found at http://www.sfcinematheque.org/#/calendar/. Among the highlights are the world premieres of Scott Stark's epic new piece The Realist, Luther Price's Nomadic Flesh, and Jodie Mack's Dusty Stacks of Mom (with Jodie performing live in person! Trailer here: http://vimeo.com/60982297#at=0). The festival will also include work by Stephanie Barber, Michael Robinson, Robert Todd, Laida Lertxundi, Ben Rivers, Mary Helena Clark, and many, many more. Please join us!

Of course we need community support to help put on the show. To that end we have a brand new Kickstarter campaign. This year we have gathered together some great items for donors including tote bags with George Kuchar's classic Cinematheque "View the Impossible Dreams" design; books and DVDs from artists whose work will be showing at the festival; original art from Lewis Klahr, Michael Robinson, Karen Yasinsky, and Paul Clipson; and for one lucky donor Luther Price film prints--wowzers! Please consider helping the Cinematheque make this Crossroads Festival even better than last year by donating here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1271981710/crossroads-film-festival-2013-0

Thank you again for your past support. I hope to see you in April!

Update #2 · Apr 4, 2012 · comment

Greetings.

Thanks you so much for backing the San Francisco Cinematheque and the 3rd annual Crossroads Film Festival.  It has been exciting to see a lot of new backers in the last few days.  We truly appreciate all the support.

We are only $1,335 from our goal with 58 hours to go.  In order to put your amazing donations to use we need to reach the $5,000.  Please help us spread the word to all corners of cinephilia.  With some great word of mouth in these final days, I know we can be successful.

Now some fun stuff.  I've got a scoop on some confirmed titles you can expect to see at this year's festival. If you haven't seen Ken Jacobs' incendiary and award-winning "Seeking the Monkey King" you will get your chance this May. Also screening will be films from Ben Russell, Ben Rivers, Katherin McInnis, and Jennifer Reeves.  Finally, there will be a live performance by Kerry Laitala and John Davis--expect some awesome colors. Much more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Thanks again for your support.  We can't wait to see you at the Crossroads in May!

Cheers,

Jeff Lambert
