UP DATE #2
"Forbidden Ground, FUKUSHIMA" is a documentary on the aftermath of the disaster in Fukushima.
The day before yesterday, Japan’s PM Yoshihiko Noda finally ordered the reactivation of two reactors at the Oi nuclear plant in Fukui prefecture.
It’s just the first step in restarting all the country’s functional reactors, which were shut down in the aftermath of the catastrophe at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant following the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
Up to 10,000 people took part in a demonstration in Tokyo on Saturday to protest against the government decision, which was not reported by media in Japan, but rather been criticized on the net.
Still, Japan’s 48 nuclear reactors have been shut down since May 5th. In many cases, the reactors were taken off-line either for regular maintenance or to meet new safety requirements, but have been able to reopen if there is no more pressure from people in the nation, including the supporters from overseas.
We are really appreciated for every backer on this project and even if the funding goal cannot be achieved, we should remember all the people who volunteered to help us.
The film is almost complete. Now we need to proceed the audio and sound mix at a dubbing studio in Tokyo and the eventual French / English / German subtitling.
We want to release our films to the public to show them to the people who are in favor of nuclear power, or who are opposed, or people who are not interested at all. We hope that after watching these documentary films, people would take seriously what happening in Japan and think again of people in Fukushima, and what really is good.
This film is not to criticize the government or a movie anti-TEPCO. It’s about human dignity and questioning something more important than a business or industry success.
Please introduce this film to world and speak out about the injustice if there is such impression against Japan’s nuclear policy.
Soon, we will send you a preview version of the film. Currently, we are looking forward to listening your frank opinions.
