Where will the extra funding go?

Our goal we reached was the bare minimum of what we really needed. Now, we can make the film we really want. For those who wanted to donate, but haven't yet, you still have a chance to get a copy of the DVD or digital copy. All extra donations will go towards putting our film on more screens, film festivals, making the DVD's and especially marketing the film. 

We are delighted and honored by the support, generosity and overall interest in PIÑATA. But we are not done yet!

The Story is a narrative about an outcast, quietly living alone in his empty town by the train tracks. One day he finds the murdered body of a woman laying on the tracks. He connects with this body, pities it. So, he decides to carry her into his house. Since he lives entirely alone, he creates an odd relationship with the body, as if she is a guest in his house, he begins to care for the corpse. He decides to investigate the crime on his own without the involvement of the police, hoping to bring the killers to justice. This is not your average whodunit, this is the journey through the shadows within the mind of our hero and the mystery of the body becomes a catalyst for his explosive mental breakdown.

This is an introspective analysis about the corruption of human nature, told through speculative narration by the protagonist. This film's comment on violence presents a disturbing metaphor using a Piñata to emulate the deep seated brutality spawned as a child.

The Film is about loneliness, corruption, libido, death, life, afterlife, trains, obscure cultural traditions, insects, but it is mainly about the relationship between the protagonist and the lifeless being. It is also the honest exploration within the universal need to be connected and what we will do to maintain it.
