About this project
Hi there. I'm Marc With a C. I make lo-fi pop albums. Sometimes they are sarcastic, sometimes they are heartfelt, and sometimes they are even good. I usually do everything independently, be it production, booking or recording, and I've been doing it for about 13 years. I've made nine full-length records with original songs, plus more EP's, official bootlegs and cover records than I can count. It might be fair to say that life is what I do between recording and writing songs, actually.
In 2007, I made an album called Normal Bias, and it's fair to say that
it's my favorite batch of songs I've ever done. (Feel free to download
the original mastering/mixes of the album here, actually). I was in an
especially fragile state of mind when I wrote it, and it certainly
shows. The album was recorded with the only two microphones I owned at
the time. I played and sang everything on the record in one marathon three day session with few breaks to, say "sleep", or "eat something". Once it was completed, I felt a huge weight lifted from
me. Some friends were concerned that I might later regret the personal
nature of some of the tunes, but to this day, I feel like it was the
best example of me having an idea for an album and carrying it to
fruition. Heck, many of the songs went on to become some of the most
popular songs I do at my shows! Everything about it went exactly as I'd
planned.
Except for one thing.
I'm an unabashed vinyl junkie, and at the time that Normal Bias was recorded, I simply didn't have the means to get it out on my format of choice. Now? I'm asking for your help in getting this record committed to wax. This new version has been painstakingly remastered for vinyl, and it's like night and day when comparing it to the rather brittle and harsh version that currently exists. Vinyl is absolutely the way that this album was meant to be heard, and with your help and support? I can finally get this album done the way that I want it to be experienced and archived.
As a fiercely DIY musician that is unable to tour, this pledge drive is the only way I'll be able to get this record reissued and into the hands of those that will appreciate it. (Myself included, truth be told).
It's my hope that if this Kickstarter program is successful, I'll continue to reissue my older albums on vinyl in this manner, giving them the presentation that I'd always had in mind for them.
And if I fail? Oh gosh, I don't even want to think about that.

Shot with two cameras in the smallest venue imaginable, it's (to our knowledge) the only full length Marc With a C show available on video. This has been out of print for three years, and it's never been available as a standalone piece. Warts and all! PLUS, you get everything from the $50 tier!

Hello, I’m Marc With a C. I was born at a very young age, and I have a prolific penchant for writing and recording pop songs.
