This is for a larger print run of cards to drive cost-per-item down (so I can compete) and to expand my product line with prints
I've been working hard to create a series of Pregnancy artwork that reflects the journey, struggles, quirks, humour, fears that shape us as women as we walk (or waddle??) along the path from being a woman to becoming a mother. What has resulted is a line of artwork that is honest, vulnerable, quirky, and emotive. My goal has been to create artwork that vears away from the fluffy, lacy, sentimental pregnancy and "baby's coming" images, and instead recreates the experiences from the mother's perspective. What has resulted is the line of artwork that I have called: Introducing Babe In The Bump: Art and the Absurdity of Pregnancy, Birth, and Motherhood.
"Ya Ya, we get it, so why are you here"
Well, since you ask, I need another print run! I've already run my first one, and have been selling them, but I had such a limited budget that the cards I printed simply cost too much. This makes it difficult to make any money from online sales after fees, promo materials, etc, and impossible to earn anything when I need to sell them to a store (and up my sales) at wholesale prices (at lower prices). What I am trying to do is to bring some more cashola together in order to make a larger order of cards so that my cost per item is reduced and I can start earning something around here (fingers crossed)! Plus I'd like to expand my line in order to make it more competitive and exciting, to limited edition prints of one or two special images.
What I've set up here is a way for you to scratch my back and me to scratch yours! You help me in bringing prego's something to relate to, enjoy, and laugh about (and trust me, when a woman is pregnant, she needs it) and you make your world a happier place... plus you support a local artist trying to make it big, in return I send all sorts of things your way, cards, prints, photo books, magnets, personally written letters, nice thoughts, etc etc - deal?
