What is Halation?

Halation is a psychological thriller about a young photographer named Alex who moves into an old house in Seattle. It’s the picture-perfect place for him, it looks and feels like an antique, a relic from out of the past.  Alex finds himself comforted by the timeless nature of the rooms and some of the old family heirlooms that still populate the house. However, Alex begins to get the distinct feeling that he is being watched, and he starts to think that he is sharing his place with an unwanted housemate. The horrors of the past continue to stalk Alex as the real world and the world of his nightmares begin to collide.

This story, like all great stories, is inspired by real life experiences.  Last fall, my housemates and I moved into a home built in 1908 in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle.  Seeing the distinct family history and hearing stories about past tenants got us to thinking about how a space can hold so many different types of emotional experiences. Can these experiences sometimes be so strong that they leave a mark on a place?  Can humans also carry these memories?  Perhaps this is the very nature of “Haunting”.  These are the questions and ideas our film is going to explore.  We think that we have a story worth telling, and want to invite you to join us in the creative process.

As of now, we have a cast and crew of twelve very talented people, a final draft of the screenplay, and a production schedule that will include filming this summer with the goal of an October release. 

Your funding will go towards making our film look, sound, and feel like we envision.  More specifically, money is going to be spent on camera gear, audio equipment, and lighting to deliver a professional style product as well as other set and prop needs.

None of the Cast or Crew is receiving money for this project, and we want to assure potential investors that all of your money is going towards what you will see on the screen. 

In short, this is a worthy project to invest in.  A great deal of time and effort has already been invested and we are passionate in creating a film that will be as provocative as it is thrilling.  Any amount of money helps, and there are specific tiered rewards for donating.
