You will have your name written in calligraphy on a list that will be read in a reverential tone of voice into the letterbox as we post all of the letters. (Specific accents requestable.) You also receive our unconditional lavender love.
You get to choose a theme which will be used to write a letter to a stranger (eg: how giraffes give birth, babies’ names, what dogs are thinking when they look at the moon, etc.) Each donor will receive a digital image of the resulting letter and a unique digital thank you.
You will receive a unique hand-written postcard composed whilst we were sober, clear-headed and utterly focused on the task.
You will receive a unique hand-scrawled postcard written while we were drunk, which we'll regret horribly by the time it arrives.
You will receive a gorgeous hand-written letter, thoroughly spell-checked and mildly scented (agreeable smell). Bulging with highkickery.
You will receive an epic stocky letter which sadly goes on for a bit too long and clutters up your otherwise tidy home.
A gorgeous love letter with a STAGGERING item for you or anyone you choose: A bag containing 0.0001% of the Eiffel Tower!!! (filed and picked off.) Limited to one million as otherwise the whole tower would be filed down to nothing. The most romantic post conceivable!
Various tasty bits: A letter, on any topic to anyone. Sealed with the kiss of a hired model. (Really) & a deluxe edition box of prints of the 10 best letters (Signed!) & a copy of the Mysterious Letters Play (Rare). Nothing else.
Utter mystery. Even we have no idea what it is. Only for the reckless spendthrift.
You will receive the best letter we've ever written to anyone. It will be hand delivered by Michael and Lenka to your house, wherever you live in the world.
YOU get to choose the next town we write to (under 900 households).
Michael is a writer and an artist. His writing, mostly short fiction, combines deadpan wit with absurd sentimentality. In recent stories he noticed your bank statement slowly appearing as the sunrise, combined all Chinatowns to make a second actual China and suggested that Jupiter rotates in the opposite direction every time you say nah.
Lenka is an artist and documentary maker. Her work investigates the poetry of labour expended toward an epic, utopian, often impossible task. In recent projects she searched for and photographed the 613 people mentioned in a German newspaper, hand-numbered 7000 stones, filmed one person of each age from 1 – 100, and re-organised the 4100 words of President Bush’s Axis of Evil speech into alphabetical order.
Michael & Lenka are currently writing a hand-written letter to every household in the world.
