Hello again!
It looks like we've somehow done it! Is it really possible? We already love the internet far too much but this will take that lovin' over the edge and crashing down down down into the rocky wavy megabits.
Palpatations are pa pa pa-ing here and we don't quite know how to sit still or stand right. And who knows, we may even get a last gasp $100000 bid from Donald Trump...
Imagine our arms extending quite horrifically around all of you and bringing you in for a warm bear hug of tender ferocity and perky ah.

Update #7: Closer than close...
Sun drenched heart thumping individually sculpted thank yous to everyone who's pledged to Mysterious Letters so far! We're so close now it's a very lovely pink and gold-ish woozy feeling, so again thank you!
If we do get any pledges pipping us past our target rest utterly assured they will be going on more postal antics, so we can write to more people, longer streets and more populated cities.

Hello All,
Something rare, outrageous and breathtakingly lovely has been added to the $100 pledge mark, please do have a look.
For those wonderful people who have already pledged that much (and more) you instantly qualify for the new thing, if you would like it. (assuming we hit our target...)
The new pledge is partly a celebration as Lenka got married today!!!
I should probably keep this to myself but I also tried to add a special one million dollar "Indecent Proposal" pledge but the system doesn't allow for it. Rightly so, it was a weak joke:
"Michael dresses as Demi Moore. You dress as Robert Redford. Five minutes of flirting gets you precisely nowhere."

Update #3: Our Methods 2
Sometimes, in the mornings we'd paint our fingers. If anyone asked us what we were doing while we were out researching (taking photographs of dogs, eavesdropping in the post office, counting daffodils etc.) we'd hold up our hands and say "we're watercolour painters". That way no one would suspect that we were writing Mysterious Letters.

Michael is a writer and an artist. His writing, mostly short fiction, combines deadpan wit with absurd sentimentality. In recent stories he noticed your bank statement slowly appearing as the sunrise, combined all Chinatowns to make a second actual China and suggested that Jupiter rotates in the opposite direction every time you say nah.
Lenka is an artist and documentary maker. Her work investigates the poetry of labour expended toward an epic, utopian, often impossible task. In recent projects she searched for and photographed the 613 people mentioned in a German newspaper, hand-numbered 7000 stones, filmed one person of each age from 1 – 100, and re-organised the 4100 words of President Bush’s Axis of Evil speech into alphabetical order.
Michael & Lenka are currently writing a hand-written letter to every household in the world (with your help!).
