What are we doing you cry?
We're sending letters to everyone in the world, one town at a time.
We're trying to prompt chats around neighborhoods. (Not boring! Exciting!)
We're trying to spread a bit of butter! (Joy.)
We're lighting the long weird wick of community curiosity and waiting for it to do whatever that particular mix of people does. (Who knows?!)
What sort of thing should strangers say to strangers?
Who absolutely hates letters?
What will come for you in the mail tomorrow?
Thanks to the brilliant people who pledged on here last time we wrote over 600 letters to every home in Polish Hill in Pittsburgh in America...
Now we want to go further, quicker, bigger, thinner, taller, shorter, etc.

(This time we're looking to raise $8000 for travel to a very remote (secret at the moment, sorry) location. Until now we've had to limit our letter writing to 620, the most we can do in two weeks without dying, but with $8,000 we can write to hundreds and hundreds more people, longer letters, further travels, whole cities, etc.)

Michael is a writer and an artist. His writing, mostly short fiction, combines deadpan wit with absurd sentimentality. In recent stories he noticed your bank statement slowly appearing as the sunrise, combined all Chinatowns to make a second actual China and suggested that Jupiter rotates in the opposite direction every time you say nah.
Lenka is an artist and documentary maker. Her work investigates the poetry of labour expended toward an epic, utopian, often impossible task. In recent projects she searched for and photographed the 613 people mentioned in a German newspaper, hand-numbered 7000 stones, filmed one person of each age from 1 – 100, and re-organised the 4100 words of President Bush’s Axis of Evil speech into alphabetical order.
Michael & Lenka are currently writing a hand-written letter to every household in the world (with your help!).
