FTL Update: It's almost September!
Hello backers!
Big news: We've finally set a release date. We plan to launch the completed game on September 14th. That's only a little over 2 weeks away!
Second, FTL will also be available on GOG.com! They will be selling a DRM free version that will include some bonus materials (a few music tracks / some development art). Also, they have kindly offered to give keys to everyone who backed the game at the $10 level and up! That means everyone who gets the game through the Kickstarter will also get the bonus content offered through GOG.com. This is in addition to the Steam key everyone will also receive!
EDIT: The bonus materials will not be the full artbook & soundtrack given to the various backer levels.
In other news, FTL has been nominated as one of the finalists for IndieCade! Head over to LA Oct 4th-7th for lots of game related fun. We will also be showcased in the Fantastic Fest's Arcade Sept 20th-23rd in Austin where FTL will be featured with its own arcade cabinet.
And finally, our official trailer is now live! Watch it! Send it to your friends! Watch it again! Check it out below, or at: https://vimeo.com/47066972

Congratulations on a TRUE successful Kickstarter; got the funding *and* delivered on it!
The next two weeks will be difficult!
Creator Matthew Walker on August 30, 2012
In anticipation of the release, I recorded another FTL Let's Play. And sucked horribly. This game is HARD. http://youtu.be/50hy2zEfbYY

That's fantastic news about GOG, congratulations :)
Creator Evgueni Baldin on August 30, 2012
Could you ask GOG about Linux support? I mean that even if there is a Linux port -- there is no information about it on the GOG.
Creator Ian Perley on August 29, 2012
Serious kudos for bringing this to both Steam and GOG. A very welcome surprise, thank you :)
Creator Michael Matzat on August 29, 2012

Creator Jean-Luc Picard on August 29, 2012
Ignore the question above. Forgot to click "view all comments". :P
Creator Benjamin Meck on August 29, 2012
Is there going to be ANY way to get the PDF instruction manual after the game is released?
Creator Andreas on August 29, 2012
Thanks for the clarification!
Creator Joshua Logan on August 29, 2012
I'm curious how the arcade cabinet version works. Can this be played with joystick?
Creator Jean-Luc Picard on August 29, 2012
How will the GOG thing work exactly? Will we get keys that can be redeemed at GOG or do we have to ask them for one and, if so, how do we prove our backer status to them?
Creator Matt on August 29, 2012
Awesome! GOG FTW!
Creator Carrein on August 29, 2012
I only buy from two services, steam and gog.com. Glad to see it gets on gog.com, their offers hold great value.

Creator Darkangel on August 29, 2012
Nice work on the gog option, much apreciated.
Creator Stephen Williamson on August 29, 2012
Ah, if only more devs would remember GOG for this sort of thing. As much as I like my Steam library, DRM-free is the way to go. You guys rock.
Creator Jeff Craig on August 29, 2012
Oh wait, you already answered my question! Even better!
Creator fakum12 on August 29, 2012

Very excited. I've been looking forward to this date for a long time.
Creator Max Paluska on August 29, 2012
The GOG thing was a pleasant surprise. Even more pleasant that we don't have to buy the game again. (Though if its as good as it looks, I probably would anyway)
Creator Devon Rampe on August 29, 2012
I just signed up for a GOG account with my email address registered on Kickstarter, so I can get the game and content there too. :)
Creator Joshua Megerman on August 29, 2012
Excellent! Looking forward to it!
Creator Veav on August 29, 2012
But... that's not NOW! :(

@Joshua: The Linux build will be available on our website day 1 assuming no horrible disasters in the next two weeks :)
Creator Joshua Megerman on August 29, 2012
What is the status of the Linux version? Will it be available from day 1, or will I have to wait?
Creator Subset Games on August 29, 2012
@Tony: You'll get a Steam key, a GOG key, and a way to download it off our website. You will receive all of those, and are welcome to use them all or just one. Up to you!
Creator Matt Nolan on August 29, 2012
So excited to get the game from GOG!!
Creator Devon Rampe on August 29, 2012
Awesome! So excited to finally play this awesome game! :)
Creator Tony Nuth on August 29, 2012
clearing my calander for the 14th, i'm a little confused are we going to have a choice weather it's on steam or gog or just gog. I'm perfectly fine with gog by the way.
Creator Subset Games on August 29, 2012
No. Sorry if we're not clear on that. The bonus content will involve only one or two tracks and a very small collection of art, not the full soundtrack and art book that the $40 backers will receive!
Creator Andreas on August 29, 2012
Uh, so I pledged $40, and the people at the $25 level get the same thing as me?
(not the game isn't worth it at $40, but still…)
Creator Subset Games on August 29, 2012
I believe yes, you'll be given a way for it to be added to your account and it will be on your shelf.
Creator JTD121 on August 29, 2012
Sounds awesome. For GOG, how is that going to work? Will we get the game on our GOG shelf?
Too bad you guys won't be in the Boston area! Good luck!
