Any update on the art book? Update #15 (in November last year!) said it was a work-in-progress but there's been nothing since.
Creator Mattimao on April 4
Still hoping for a fantasy theme of this game!
Creator Cory Hodge on January 16
The game is great! It's so bloody hard though, even on easy. ;_; Not going to stop me though!
Creator duhsveti on December 5
Guys, thank you for the game. If i knew it would be that good i would have given you more money. I'm hoping for an expansion or a sequel soon.
Creator jetdillo on November 27
Thanks for the update and the awesome game. I'm really having a lot of fun playing it :)
Creator Mattimao on October 8, 2012
My family and I are all really enjoying this game. I am very glad I backed this one!
Now...You guys need to make a Fantasy version of this style of game.
That would be so much fun!
Creator Alexander K on October 8, 2012
I had a question - current Steam release has password-protected beta builds. Who has access to this?
Creator Justin Legrande on October 6, 2012
My gaming friend and I are having lots of fun with this one! Congrats on the grand success!
Creator Alan Murphy on September 25, 2012
If anyone is interested in another great looking space game. Check out Blackspace.

Creator Fabian Nitsche on September 24, 2012
My first reward from Kickstarter! Great little game! Keep up the good work!
Creator Andreas on September 23, 2012
I've already seen this game declared as being the poster child of Kickstarter success :)
Anyways, I really hope for another Kickstarter project for an expansion with more events & ships (space stations?) and maybe even interactive planet navigation.
Creator Matthew Davis on September 21, 2012
Wow this is sickly addicting and love the music. Well done ya'll.
Creator Adam Cardoza on September 20, 2012
This game is amazing. Can we Kickstart the iOS version now? ;)
Creator Roy Greenfield on September 20, 2012
@Alan - Thanks. I should really stop skimming through these updates.
Creator Talarius on September 18, 2012
Loving my FTL game. Thanks so much for all your hard work! :-)
Creator Danny Anderson on September 17, 2012
@Subset Games...Congratulations! Love this game!
Creator P-38 on September 17, 2012
So . . . what game are you guys going to Kickstart next? And when will it be up for backing? :)
Creator Alan Murphy on September 16, 2012
@Roy Update #14 tells you what you need to do to recieve both your GOG and Steam keys.
Creator Roy Greenfield on September 16, 2012
Just wondering, when do we get our GOG codes?
Creator Thomas Ryan on September 15, 2012
I love this game so much, it's super addictive, clocked many hours on it already!
I was thinking, a great addition to this game would be some planetary missions! If you have a teleporter on your ship, maybe you could have a mission option sometimes that has you beam down onto a planet to fix something or fight some people for rewards! Just a thought...
Creator Chermette Corentin on September 15, 2012
It's good to see plenty of coverage for your game, here is a pretty good test for french speakers : http://www.gamekult.com/jeux/test-ftl-faster-than-light-J3050050731t.html…
Creator Seumas on September 14, 2012
Hey, Subset Games, you shut up with all that rational and logic. We don't take kindly to that on the intarwebs! :P (Just to reiterate, I was only pointing out that it's kind of amusing; not offensive or upsetting).
Seriously, though, one of the best things about backing projects (especially FTL, which is so great to see come to fruition) has just been following along with updates about each step of the way, events, etc. It's far more compelling to watch indies and small production studios through the process than be fed overly produced, polished, marketing garbage leading up to releases for big releases that just leaves you feeling slimy and uninformed.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that is looking forward to the holidays, this year, to buy lots of Steam /GOG copies of FTL to gift to friends and family, too.
Creator Andreas S. on September 14, 2012
The game is awesome! Thx for the great work!
Creator Subset Games on September 14, 2012
Backers get access to Steam, our website builds, GOG bonus content, and 2 week early access. We thought that was fair for a $1 :)
Creator Seumas on September 14, 2012
I love this game, but it's amusing that backers paid $10 for a copy, but it launched on GOG for $8.99.
Creator Joseph Mendez on September 13, 2012
Love the Federation Cruiser you get from beating the boss. The Artillery Beam is BEAST. Fun game that I've logged way too many hours on.
Creator Subset Games on September 13, 2012
@P-38 Thank you :)
Creator P-38 on September 13, 2012
For anyone who cared, eset verified false positive, woo hoo!
Creator GT on September 13, 2012
Been playing the beta and love it! Do the $80 backers get the soundtrack, out of curiosity?
Creator P-38 on September 12, 2012
Submitted. There's been one virus update since initial detection, still showing it unsafe but . . . I did read about Nod32 having this issue with other steam games. First time it's happened to me though.
Creator fredgiblet on September 11, 2012
MBAM and MSE both say it's clean. You might want to let Nod know they have a false positive
Creator P-38 on September 11, 2012
So, my steam account just updated FTL, and Nod32 comes back and says the ftl.exe is infected with the crypt.win32 virus, and deleted it . . . you might want to double check the upload.
Creator Veav on September 10, 2012
@Brian I've only won once, but my strategy during phase 2 was cloakspam.
Creator fredgiblet on September 9, 2012
@Mark
Some randoms will repair you after saving a civilian ship or somethign similar. Also there's an augmentation "Repair Arm" that repairs the ship but reduces the scrap you get.
Creator Fredrik Lundgren on September 9, 2012
Do agree with Brian leet. A excellent game that I have enjoyed very much. A bit to much even. But I have finally managed to pull my self away. Anyway what I going to say is that like Brain Leet i think the auto-fire function could need a bit work. Its a nice feature but to be able to select which weapon to auto-fire would be nice. The readability of the auto-fire could be improved to I think. (For you who are not in to design it means how easy to is to understand what it is doing or what is for. Like it being on or off)
Creator Brian Leet on September 9, 2012
20 hours in, and all I can say is amazing! I've unlocked four ships, but have yet to beat the final ship. "Phase 1" of the battle I've won a handful of times, but don't know the strategy for the second yet. Haven't even tried "Normal" difficulty yet! So, if I had a comment it is that "Easy" maybe should be toned down just a teensy bit.
I like the interface, though I do tend to pause a lot in combat. I love the audio queues, particularly the heartbeat when a crew member gets low on health. Only minor nits:
Sometimes I find myself opening/closing a door when I want to select a crew member.
I often want to set some weapons on auto-fire, but not others.
Looking forward to the final tweaks, and hopeful for even more stories and variety!
Creator David on September 9, 2012
Loving the game! Managed to get to sector 5 at last!
Creator Rompcat on September 9, 2012
Wow. Just wow. I love this game. I love this game. I love this game.
Creator Mark Rice on September 8, 2012
This game is amazing, I am still yet to make it past sector 4 (on easy even) as I never seem to find a store when I need one!
Is there any other alternatives to stores for hull repairs? I think I got a random encounter with a repair drone once but you cant rely on that happening. Do any alien races help with hull repair?
Creator Carrein on September 8, 2012
I'm having a lot of fun. It's properly hard as I can see by going just a bit further each time I play.
It's a great game to just log in and play for half an hour at a time.
Creator Tumbler on September 7, 2012
I just checked my steam library and I've logged in 25 hours already. I think I got the beta on Monday? This game is so much fun, I can't put it down. Really amazing game. I love how the "story" plays out so quickly. 30min-1 hour and you should reach the end but omg all the crazy stuff that happens. You'll be feeling completely invincible one minute and a fire breaks out in the wrong section of your ship and 2 min later you're trying to move crew around to put out fires in one room while trying to keep the ship fighting in combat and vent other rooms out to space all while keeping certain crew members at their stations and running others around to fight intruders.
Amazing Game.
Creator Robert Meijer on September 6, 2012
Guys, this game feels great, the mechanics are there, very good work indeed! It sucks the time right out of my schedule.
Some things I hope gets fixed in the release version: Working mouse when entering text. Ability to create template crew (think teams in Worms). Hot-keys for selecting crew in your ship.
Creator Robert Edward Thomas Taylor on September 6, 2012
Just spent whole day addicted to playing this great game (thanks for the beta before release) Its a tough game but I think you got the balance right with the two modes and what I found surprising is how re playable it is with different strategies ships etc Anyway I think you guys have done a great job and I would love it if you kept adding to FTL with further content of some sort.
Creator Brendon on September 6, 2012
Hey guys, a few notes from playing the Beta:
1) Can you implement a zoom function for when the invaders land? Sometimes its hard to see/control what is going on on the tiny squares.
2) Can you add an option to speed up time during combat?
3) Also mouseover crew members should highlight their stats on the left, so it is easier to see their skills as you select.
Otherwise, loving it! Certainly a challenge! Not sure how I will beat the mothership, whoops me every time!
Creator fredgiblet on September 5, 2012
@Valentine
It's a rogue-like, which means you're supposed to lose most of the time. I've only won 2-3 times out of probably 30 rounds. About a third of those didn't even make it out of the first sector.
Still kept me up 3 hours past my normal bed-time though.
Creator Valentine Royzenfeld on September 5, 2012
Are you meant to lose every time? Even easy seems to kick my ass in the beta. It is addicting, but losing gets frustrating eventually.....
Creator Jeroen Heijster on September 5, 2012
Damn, I played it a lot now and it is AMAZING!
Creator Rob B. on September 4, 2012
Ditto Kevin.. I've played 11 hours so far today... effing addicting
Creator Kevin Kortekaas on September 3, 2012
I've been playing all gosh darn day and it's awesome. well done guys
Creator Daniel Santos Ferreira Alves on September 3, 2012
I've played a few games today and I must say this game is great.
As a little kid I was a fan of Star Trek and I felt like living my childhoods dreams of being a ship commander here. I didn't play more because I have some tests to do study for, but I will as soon as possible.
Thanks for the great work!
