The link between food & health fascinates me. When one is a mom & chief caretaker of the family, one learns to ferret out the best foods for the family. However, I must admit I have had more than my fair share of junk food & irresponsible eating in the past. With my diagnosis 2 years ago of celiac disease, I realized that bad eating was simply not an option. Thus began my deep curiosity about foods from the past, & the wisdom that we could draw upon in order to solve our current problems. My own background growing up in India brought back habits & memories of cooking from natural ingredients, fermenting foods, and more.
This idea has been brewing in my head for a while now, but between various roles that one juggles everyday, this project lay buried as a dream. Now as I am working on my web application aimed at people living with food allergies, it seems a very good time to dig deeper into this fascinating subject.
