About this project
Based on a true story written & performed by award-winning actress Lili Taylor, (I Shot Andy Warhol, HBO's Six Feet Under) The Duel is a gripping, experimental documentary short film about a family's brave struggle with severe mental illness.
Originally produced for the popular storytelling podcast RISK! created by Kevin Allison of MTV's The State, this project is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sean Christensen, who is committed to bringing Lili's story to life. And he needs your help!
By donating today, you will be helping the creative team build capital to pay for the film's post-production and distribution to major festivals. With your pledge, you will be helping Lili's story take shape in its crucial final stages, before the film is released to a wide audience.
Your money will be directly impacting the shape and effectiveness of the finished product, paying for picture editing, sound mixing & coloring.
"The Duel" is not just a captivating story, but it's a commitment to providing audiences with a dignified and complex portrait of mental illness - and those who suffer with it everyday. By lending us your support, you will not only be a part of a high-caliber independent production, but you will be making a difference.
So please, have a look at some of our amazing gifts for premium donors, and check back with us as we near our goal, as new prizes & more information about the film are revealed!
