an all-ages, all-hours, happening of dance, performance, and visual art that will set the town of Wellfleet, Massachusetts in motion!
What is it? Not your average dance festival
Fleet Moves is a brand new dance festival produced by the The Movement Party in collaboration with Wellfleet Preservation Hall, and Farm Project Space.
During the week of the festival we (a collaborative group of 20 artists, teachers, and volunteers) will set the town in motion with all-day programming that includes daily classes, indoor and outdoor performances, a visual art exhibition, film screenings, and a closing night dance party.
Dedicated to the exploration and celebration of all types of movement, Fleet Moves will feature the work of emerging and seasoned choreographers, and will blend a traditional approach to dance with local movement inspirations.

And if we exceed our goal?
We are committed to the hard work and elbow-grease it takes to pull off a festival. Many of our participants are already volunteering their time, and we are a DIY, non-profit venture, but if we pass our goal, we will be able to expand our programming, build a foundation for next year's festival, and most importantly, give back to organizations like Wellfleet Preservation Hall that sustain the town's cultural programming.

About Kickstarter:
Kickstarter is a platform for funding creative projects. In exchange for your support, we can offer a variety of rewards in addition to our everlasting gratitude. As ever, funding is all-or-nothing, so we must reach or pass our goal in order to move forward! If we don't make our goal, nobody will be charged, so rest assured that your money will only be spent on making Fleet Moves the best it can be. We think this is an exciting way to leverage the excitement and support of a community towards this goal. We hope you do too.

FAQ
-
Fleet Moves wishes to promote eco-friendly performance and respects valiant efforts on the part of the National Seashore, Wellfleet Audubon and Wellfleet Conservation Trust to protect dune, pond, and marsh environments. We will not be exposing any "secret" or protected locations and will be dancing on pre-approved areas only. Thanks to everyone who has voiced these valid concerns. Together we can protect the nature we love.
