Raising funds for a fantastic new music video for a single from Dave Linnenbank's new album/video project, "The Problem Is Last Year"!
Dave Linnenbank’s Music Film Project THE PROBLEM IS LAST YEAR
A Music / Short Film Project in Houston, TX / Brooklyn, NY by Proud Pony International
Everybody needs new awesome, and for over a year Dave Linnenbank has been working to bring that new awesome to the people. A student of the sonic arts, Linnenbank has always been a storyteller first, and his live performances over the years have utilized unique video elements programmed and displayed on the fly.
Merging his songwriting background and sound design expertise, Dave is currently working to self-release his new album THE PROBLEM IS LAST YEAR as an audio/art digital download. He’s also working to release a fancy version of the album in video format. To this end, Dave has enlisted 10 visual artists of assorted backgrounds, each to create a video of their own for one of the album's songs. One of these artists is Proud Pony International, a new media collective based in Houston, TX.
Though much of the album is complete, funds are needed to cover the cost of producing a promotional art video for one album track, entitled "Trep". As interpreted by the Proud Pony team, the narrative follows a couple from their first date to their possible last, meeting at the same bar many times, all in one seamless shot. Visually depicting the course of a year, we experience their first awkward jokes, first kiss, first fight, and the inevitable questions everyone has had to ask themselves: “Is this a terrible idea?” “I chose right, didn't I?” “Where do we go from here?”
Realizing the ambitious concept on the screen will require specialized camera rigging systems and a highly skilled crew. Proud Pony has completed pre-production and assembled the requisite talent, and your contribution will make this new awesome a reality.
Any money received will be used first to pay art's bills, and if there is a surplus, for audio mastering and to support the visual artists who have given their time to this project freely. We are just looking to make art and can't wait to share it with you.
