Hey everyone,

Just reporting in on how things are going. Last weekend, we wrapped all the scenes on the spaceship. It all came out amazing; the footage all looks beautiful and is going to cut together extremely well. All that's left is to shoot some quick cutaways, and the short interview scene.

The difficult part of shooting is officially over. Now begins the process of putting it all together in the editing room. There's also music and sound design to finish. We have two months though; we'll pull it off.

For those following our progress, check out some stills from the footage. This is barely a taste of all the great footage we have; I don't want to give too much away. A lot of the beauty of our shots isn't just in the lighting or set design but also in the camera work as well. You'll have to see the film to really understand how great it all is. Thanks again to my crew who threw down every day.

Hey everyone =]

Casting is gearing up and should consume most of the month, along with equipment rentals and location scouting. As of now, about 30 people are lined up for the lead role, and a few of the smaller supporting roles are being filled slowly but surely.

As of right now, we're pretty sure we've settled on the Canon 5D Mark II as the camera we'll be using. In case you're wondering, the Canon 5D is a still image camera. However, it happens to shoot gorgeous 1080p footage, with the only downside being it records at 30fps. Not a problem, though; we've gone through test footage and we are happy with it's attributes. We're also going to consider a 30-to-24 pulldown in post (if we like how it looks).

We're really excited to be shooting on the Canon Mark II because it's simply something different from what everyone else is shooting on, and it looks phenomenal.

ALSO, as an added bonus for this update, here's a simmple, unmixed demo track of music that may or may not end up in the film. This one is a simple, ambient piece. Turn off the lights, throw on the headphones, and relax to it, as you imagine the world of our film (hopefully!).

Hey everyone. Chris here. I thought I'd give you guys an update on what we're working on right now.

Casting is going to begin within a week or so, and should carry through November. The person we're looking for, for David, has to be just right. We anticipate a very intense casting process. We also need a mother/father/young son trio for one scene on a subway, as well as an mid-30s female for one scene and an older man for an interview taping (to be shown through a TV in the film).

We're narrowing down the exact set design for the interior of our space capsule, and my friend Jon has been helping on designing the exterior for the model shots/SFX shots. Exciting!

This week I'm going to be heading to the wonderful HOME DEPOT to check out what props we can use to help set up the interior. A lot of what we need can be found in similar stores, and even probably in the basements of our homes... which will definitely help us save some money.
