Julie’s Biography
Julie Masters is a 1982 graduate of Anderson High School and married Rob Melander in 1987. Rob is also a 1982 graduate from Anderson High School. Upon graduation she entered Ball State University and graduated with degrees in journalism and business. Julie operated a catering business, worked in outside sales and managed a regional temporary business and later worked for Delphi/General Motors. Once Julie’s son, Philip was ready to graduate from high school, she pursued her dreams of earning a master’s degree. Julie graduated in November, 2010 with a Master’s in Management from the University of Phoenix and has five classes remaining to earn an MBA.
Bio – Jim Dougherty – Filmmaker
Jim Dougherty is a filmmaker and a 1982 graduate of Anderson High School. He studied theatre and film at Indiana University, both as an actor and technician. He then went on to Chicago and spent the next several years developing skills as a fight choreographer and stuntman as he worked with the Chicago Stunt Team, and traveled the Midwest performing live stunt shows.
Jim's first film opportunities came in the early 90s with work on Heaven is a Play, and later as a precision stunt driver for Nora Ephron's film, Michael.
Jim relocated back to Indiana and continued working as an actor for both stage and screen as well as a set and lighting designer and film stunt coordinator. He has also worked as a gaffer, director of photography, digital compositor, and editor in independent film.
In 2009 Jim appeared in Jim Wynorski's film Fire From Below starring Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, Andromeda). In addition to his on screen work, Jim served as the gaffer for the Indiana production team, working under Director of Photography Ken Blakey. The Indiana portion of the film was shot in Marengo cave and surrounding areas and was broadcast on the SyFy channel in November of 2009.
Jim has co-produced the independent films Leach, Beverly Lane, Waffles for Virginia, and Inside the House: The Open House Journey From Concept to Stage. His latest work is in Zack Parker's film Scalene, which will be on the festival circuit in early 2011. the film stars Margo Martindale (Dexter, Secretariat, Million Dollar Baby, Justified) and Hanna Hall (Forrest Gump, Halloween). Jim plays Charles, who is the love interest of Janice played by Margo Martindale.
I announced the basketball games when I was a teacher there. I still think about the Introduction that I originated, by saying' "Sports Fans --- HERE ARE THE INDIANS".
