About this project
Spirit of the Wigwam is a documentary that will explore the athletic history of one of the nation's largest facilities. Located in Anderson, Indiana, it has been the home of the Anderson Indians. The current facility was opened in 1961 after a fire destroyed the original Wigwam.
The Anderson Wigwam has served as a center for activity in the community for decades and has many great stories to explore.
This film will relate many of these great stories: ranging from championship seasons to individual accomplishments. We will interview coaches, athletes, fans, students, community members, and teachers to explore how The Wigwam has served a community, as well as what special memories it holds. We will interview the stars of years past and examine how the spirit of this house of champions has influenced their lives.
We have already contacted an array of people with a long history who will participate in this film. Players from teams that went to the state basketball finals, championship swimmers, coaches, cross country and track champions, and even rivals have agreed to share their stories of victory and defeat, as well as how sports and academics in these early years have taught lifelong lessons.
Many of the athletes have been located around the U.S., and we will travel to them to capture their stories.
The money you generously gift to this project will be used for needed equipment to guarantee quality technical execution, travel expenses for our skeleton crew to film interviews, and to help with the cost of replicating the finished product.
Anything above the 25 dollar level will also reserve your copy of the finished film, so at 25.00, you are actually purchasing an advance copy of the film.
