About this project
THE FILM
For the past two years I have been documenting the men and women who continue to race homing pigeons in New York City. It’s a tradition that’s been passed down from generation to generation in the city for over a century. But every year, the community grows smaller and it’s likely that pigeon racing will disappear completely in the coming years.
Many people have no idea that people race pigeons up to 600 miles every spring and fall right here in NYC. But it's an important part of the city's cultural life, closely tied with its immigrant history and a way that urban populations have connected with natural life for decades. The Pigeon Game documents this unique subculture and the challenges it faces today.

TODAY
The Pigeon Game is currently transitioning into the post-production phase and has a critical opportunity to screen a twenty-minute clip of the film at the Tenement Museum's "Tenement Talks" series on Tuesday, August 24th. This event will be a great way to move the project forward, gathering more attention and ultimately finding finishing funds for the film.
In order to do this -I need $10,000 to pay for editing, music and a sound mix. I am asking you to make a donation to meet this goal.
DONATE
Please choose the level of donation you can make in the right hand column. Many of the Pigeon Game's partners and supporters have generously provided interesting, fun and valuable rewards to help motivate you to donate.
If you are unfamiliar with how Kickstarter works -I only have until July 31st to raise $10,000. If I don't raise this amount by then, I don't get any of the money. So please make a donation and help The Pigeon Game get to the Tenement Museum -and beyond!
