We've spent months writing, creating, singing, strumming, drumming, recording, now realizing that we need some help finishing this.

We are The Standing Cinema. We love making music. We love listening to music. We love when people listen to the music we make. It's a feeling that is like nothing else in the world, sharing a song or two with those who appreciate and love our music as much as we do. We want to share this feeling with you, we want you to sing along. 

In early 2012, the three of us began planning for our new album, The Modern Escape. After months of writing, arranging, practicing, and performing these songs live, we were ready to record. We chose our six best tunes to focus on for the EP. Why not a full length album? Quality over quantity, baby. We put our heart and soul into each of these songs and want you to feel it. So we recorded it ourselves in the comfort of our own homes with own equipment. Now that we're ready to press the record, we realized we're short on the funds needed to take these songs into the physical realm. Although originally intending to completely finish this ourselves, we accepted the reality that we just need a little help from our friends.  

Check out a couple songs from the EP, The Modern Escape. If you like what you hear and want more, pledge a few dollars. We're not asking for a million dollars. Just a little something to let us finish what we started. We believe in it and we hope you will to.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

There are many challenges that we have faced, and continue to face, in making this project a reality. The whole process of recording and releasing a new album can be a trying one, especially in the final phases, where we are right now and when we need some support. Are are at the point of getting all the final pressing, artwork, promotion and everything else that is attached to putting an album out. Things go wrong, plans get changed, and sometimes it's harder than expected. But with our determination and your support, we fully intend on having all of our ideas with this project become a reality.
