Update #16: Junebug 2011 is officially over...
Yes, we have celebrated the whole of the 2011 ArtFest in fine form and reached its conclusion. Both of the Guest Artists, who appearances you sponsored, were amazing and added a heightened dimension to the event.
The weather, always a factor for us, was rather kind...testing the courage of artists and visitors alike, when on each of the final Fridays, a huge rainstorm swept through at 5pm, to make way for a beautiful June evening!
And every aspect of the Junebug indicated that we have been refining the process for four years and have many aspects very smoothly in place. We hope, if you joined us on any of those Friday evenings, you found that to be true. And come October, we will be meeting again to "Evaluate and Dream" the big Fifth Anniversary 'Bug! One of the Team alerted us to the fact that in 2012 June has FIVE FRIDAYS...an event that happens only once every 88 years!!! Very serendipitious, for sure!
Our contest winners are posted on our website...we invite you to check them out: JunebugArtFest.com
Already, we have a sculptor dreaming the 2012 Junebug into reality...and others are planning special events to offer that month...the beat goes on...the creative impulse grows. And again, for one final time, we thank you for your part in making this event such a success. Have a wonderful summer! See you next June!
Update #15: International Artist Sandy Skoglund to Speak at the Junebug
Yes, the time has moved along and this Thursday...thanks to YOU, our Kickstarter backers... we are able to bring Sandy Skoglund to Metuchen to give a presentation, regarding creativity and her work as internationally-recognized artist, sculptor, and photographer.
We hope many of you will be able to attend, since your generous donations helped make this FREE event possible for everyone in our community.
The first two nights of Junebug have been outstanding...and blest with the most glorious kind of June evenings.
See you there!

Update #12: ALMOST THERE!!!
Just a note to let you know that things are "humming" at "Junebug Central"! Chairpersons and Coordinators are burning the midnight oil to wrap things up. And, if you are so inclined, do click on the 'volunteers' section and sign up to be a Junebug Host for an hour on one of the evenings. The gracious hospitality rendered by so many Metuchenites is one of the really outstanding features of this event....and you get a Junebug T-Shirt!
Hope your calendars are marked. You're getting your pet's costume finalized. You've put the finishing touches on the photo or painting you are submitting to the contests...

Generosity and collaboration are really at the heart of the Junebug, with a whole team of artist-volunteers developing it. Many say the event is “mystical, magical” because such a variety of artists actually come together and organize something on this scale!
Check out our website to learn more about the artists who chair the various committees: (http://junebugartfest.com).
