I know you have busy lives and tons of things to do especially with the holidays coming up and we want to thank you SO much for taking the time to watch our kickstarter video. We sincerely believe that PARIAH is a film that will touch audiences and open minds in a meaningful way, and we hope you’ll be a part of helping us bring it to the big screen!
Making this film over the past five and half years has been a labor of love and a true testament to independent spirit and it’s only fitting that we finish the film in the same fashion. We’re standing on a lot of shoulders and couldn’t have made it this far without an amazing team of artists, filmmakers, and fans surrounding us and holding us up. We’re almost there and just need to pay for our music clearances, sound mix, and help bring some of our fabulous cast out to the festival to help in the effort to bring the film to a theater near you. You’ve help us make it this far, please help us go a bit further and make our dreams come true.

WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Pariah is a feature film about a Brooklyn teenager who juggles conflicting identities and risks friendship, heartbreak, and family in a desperate search for sexual expression. The film was shot on location in December 2009 over 19 days in Brooklyn, NY. It is a classic coming of age story told from a perspective never seen before on the big screen. CAN I INCREASE MY PLEDGE ONCE IT'S BEEN MADE?
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
CAN WE EXCEED THE GOAL?

CAN I GIFT AN INCENTIVE?
Yes, it's the giving season! To "gift" your reward to someone else, please follow the normal process with the pledge and payment in your name. Once we've reached the deadline, we'll send you an email requesting the information we need to fulfill the reward (address, etc.) At that time, please reply with the contact info for the person that is to receive the reward and we'll follow through!
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE MONEY ISN'T RAISED IN TIME?
If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, we don't receive any of the pledges. Your credit or debit card will not be charged.

About the writer/director:
Dee Rees is an alumna of NYU’s grad film program and a Sundance Screenwriting & Directing Lab Fellow. Her feature doc, EVENTUAL SALVATION, aired on the Sundance Channel in 2009 and she was named as one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film.” Currently, Dee is developing a TV series called THE ‘VILLE and a new dark comedy, LARGE PRINT.
