Stump and get stumped! Play along & laugh along as our co-hosts eke out brain juice in this offbeat trivia podcast.

Good Job, Brain! is a free weekly audio podcast that's part quiz show, part offbeat news, and all awesome. All the time. Even on those laundry days when there's no clean underwear.

We here are nuts about trivia. And we are darn sure there are people out there who share our unusual obsession.

  • Are you in a weekly pub trivia team?
  • Do you relish beating your friends at Trivial Pursuit?
  • Do you blab out the answers at the gym when Jeopardy! is on?
  • And don't you just loathe badly worded questions? Ggrrrahhhh!

Then this podcast, fellow trivia nut, is the ultimate mental nutrition for your very big brain. Eat up!

So...What's an episode like?

Stump and get stumped! We invite you, the listener, to play along and laugh along as our co-hosts eke out precious brain juice.

  • POP QUIZ, HOTSHOT: We'll start the show off by asking questions from a randomly selected Trivia Pursuit card. Maybe Colin will luck out with some questions on Sex in the City. It's his favorite.
  • TOPIC OF THE WEEK: Obscure international sports? Weird drugs derived from animals? Our panel of riffraff trivia junkies will sound off on what they know, and most likely, what they don't know.
  • THE MUSIC ROUND: Sure, you might have these songs on your iPod, but do you remember who sang them? Identify the artists and see if you can identify the common theme!
  • MNEMONIC, SCHEMONIC: Karen, the resident mnemonic freak, shares her handy tips on memorizing the randomest things. ie. World Cup host cities in chronological order.

So...Who are you guys?

Sure, friendship runs deep...but not as deep as being trivia teammates for several years. We've been playing pub quiz in San Francisco for a while, and not to toot our own 4-letter brass instrument, we are pretty solid.

So...What's the plan with Kickstarter?

Your donation will serve to support what we need to start one year's worth of podcasting. This includes better sound equipment, podcast hosting fees, backer rewards, buying necessities for different segments, PO box, and website + domain fees.

Backers will get a copious cornucopia of customized curios! (Whew, being professional designers sure comes in handy.)

Thanks for dropping by!

Answers to trivia questions:

// 1. Hercules' final task was to capture Cerberus, the 3-headed dog creature who actually is the offspring between a fire-breathing giant and a half-snake, half-human lady. Oh, Greece! You so crazy! (Task #5 was when Hercules had to clean up tons of horse poo from the Augean stables.)

//  2. Low. Doctors probably don't want you to know that AMYOYO is an internal term and it stands for "Alright, Motherf**ker, You're On Your Own." But still, it's a bit more personal than GPO (Good for Parts Only).

// 3. Reginald Dwight is the real birth name of Sir Elton John who starred and sang "Pinball Wizard" in the movie version of Tommy. Hope that song is now stuck in your head because it has been plaguing mine. THAT DEAF, DUMB, AND BLIND KID...SURE PLAYS A MEAN PINBALL!
