Update #8: ANNOUNCEMENT THAT WILL BLOW YOUR FACE OFF
Update #7: First episode is live!
Whhhaaattt?! How can this be?! We actually did it!
The first episode of Good Job, Brain! is now live.
Kanpai! Sláinte! Cheers!
It's our inaugural episode! So why not douse yourself in eccentric facts about liquor, spirits, and libations? Seagull wine, beer laws, cocktail origins, "alternative" imbibation methods, and more. We hope you enjoy our first show!
ALSO: Pop Quiz, Hot Shot!, Music Round, and how to memorize the provinces of Canada
RUNTIME: 44 minutes 30 seconds
I don't know about you guys but where else can you learn about sailors drinking torpedo fuel and the origin of the Gin & Tonic? (Not to mention the use of alligator poop as birth control in ancient cultures).
We hope you guys enjoy this episode!
Also, to the $50 tier and up backers - sorry, a minor delay in sending the rewards but we're working on it!
Love you all.
~ Karen
Update #6: We're GOING TO VEGAS WITH YOUR MONEY!
No, just kidding.
Reno, maybe.
Hello darling backers! Well, I guess you can tell from your bank account that all of our funding cleared and we got the green light to proceed with our plan to make the best damn trivia podcast possible. Here are some update highlights:
Backer Rewards!
Yup, many of the rewards have been designed and are off to production. Here's a glimpse at some of the prizes (Thank You card, Smart Cookie pin, mustache sticker, and my personal favorite - the Jurassic Park-inspired "Clever Girl" sticker):

Thank You Backer List is Up!
If you head on over to the official Good Job, Brain! site, you'll see that we listed most of our backers under the Superfriends tab up top. COWABUNGA!
We Got Equipment + Venue!
We will be recording the first episode of Good Job, Brain! at the famous Jazzschool in Berkeley. I think that just recording from there adds a lot of character and vibe to our show. I AM SO PSYCHED!

We Got a PO Box!
In case if anyone wants to send us locks of hair (please don't), we now have good ol' fashion snail mail set up. Here it is:
KAREN CHU @ GJB
PO Box 2928
Berkeley, CA 94702
We still don't have a solid date for our podcasting debut. But it should be soon. So stay tuned!
~Karen
Update #5: This was a triumph!

We raised 150% of our goal amount in 30 days from 100 wondrous backers.
Well, how about dem apples.
Of course, this calls for another video with my dog in it. (This time, it's the other dog, so it's totally cool.) We'd like to give everyone a semi-preview of one of our future segments!
Whether you're at home or at work, why not gather the fam or the coworkers around, and play a little bit of a music challenge we made for ya?
~ Karen
Update #4: Upcoming Programming + Cheating
When I was nine, my parents got me the Jeopardy! computer game that came on a 5" floppy disk. The exploit was easy: set up all three contestants as human players, make one my "star" player, and I would buzz in as the other contestants to buy time so I can look stuff up from our giant encyclopedia set. I played so much of it, in fact, I basically memorized every answer.
Then I would hustle and challenge my much older sister.
I would always win, of course. I guess I was less of a Smart Cookie, and more like a Cheater Cookie.

But one of my favorite parts of watching real Jeopardy! is seeing Alex Trebek reveal the categories. I'm sure I'm not the only one who approximates confidence levels in their heads:
"University Mascots, AWESOME. I'm gonna rule that so hard. I should get all but the $1000 right. I bet they're going to ask about Uga."
"Canadian Prime Ministers?! WTF. No one's going to touch that. What asshole approved this category?"
So we've been throwing around a couple ideas for some of our future TOPIC OF THE WEEK segments, and I thought it would be awesome to share them with you backer fellas.
- Bizarre alcohols + liquor origins
- Hermaphrodites
- The big Good Job, Brain! phobia episode (tentative title: "Phobatrivaphobia" - the fear of trivia about fears)
- Wacky and insane sport stories that make the girls on this podcast actually care about sports
- Formerly Known As... (FUN FACT! Nike, Inc. existed as Blue Ribbon Sports for more than 10 years before it officially was named Nike in 1978.)
- Who sang that originally? + Who sampled what?
