Update #4: Steel Toe Review Anthology has arrived!
The first shipment arrived at STR headquarters about an hour ago. Very exciting. Thanks so much to everyone who helped us do this. If you are owed copies of the anthology and/or other books, you will receive them in the mail soon. We'll be mailing out all our packages over the next week or so.
As they say on the internets, Woot!
Update #3: STR Fully Funded
Thank you all so much for your help funding Steel Toe Review. We raised our full goal, and then some, with time to spare. The anthology is almost ready to go to the printer. We expect to have copies available for sale in a few short weeks. Those of you who have been promised free copies will have them ASAP. Thanks again.

We just sent out the mailer for issue #10. Hopefully that will inspire some people to help us get over that last 25%. Thanks so much for your help so far. M. David Hornbuckle is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. He has published many short stories in a wide variety of literary magazines, and he is the author of two books: The Salvation of Billy Wayne Carter (Tritone 2009) and Zen, Mississippi (Tritone 2010).
He has also been a bandleader and songwriter for more than twenty years, most notably with the groups PopCanon and the Dixieland Space Orchestra.
Hornbuckle has recently returned to Birmingham after many years in New York City. He works as a freelance writer and editor. He also leads the band Ghost Herd, is the managing editor of the Birmingham Free Press, and is the founding editor of the online literary journal Steel Toe Review.
