Horse Country USA will celebrate the powerful bond between “man and horse”.

A magazine style, multi-episode 30 minute television program that focuses on the geographic heart of the equine industry:  Denton County, Texas and the surrounding area.  With a reported 25,000 privately owned horses and 400 ranches in DentonCounty alone, the area is at the epicenter of one of the most intensely equine oriented areas in the region, contributing approximately 50 million dollars to the local economy.

This location, with its concentration of great horses, great horsemen and women, rich history and diverse culture that is a blend of old west traditions and modern equine innovations, has the potential to provide story ideas that are limitless and memorable.

The diverse demographics of equine enthusiasts, combined with the wide variety of stories featured in Horse Country USA, will give the program broad appeal to a wide viewing audience. There are episodes of interest to the experienced horseman and woman, episodes that will attract the individual who has a spectator’s interest in the world of horses, and episodes that will inspire the beginning participant to engage more fully in horsemanship.

Taking a human interest approach, Horse Country USA will celebrate the powerful bond between “man and horse” that has been a signature of Texas from the beginning.  Moving human and horse success stories will be featured, as well as tales of the unique businesses, tradesmen and women and organizations in the area that share a deep love and devotion to all things equine.

Preliminary Episode Descriptions:

“Second Chance”—inspiring stories of horse rescues and fostering, including a horse with a prosthetic leg

“Special Horses, Special Kids”—horses used in therapy with special needs children at Riding Unlimited in Ponder, Texas with heartwarming accounts of horses, volunteers and rider accomplishments, as well as the new veteran program.

“Home on the Range”—historic tales of the oldest and most famous ranches in the area & the Horse Country USA tour.

“Making it, Big Time” —Hall of Fame Honorees from the “All the Fixin’s”—a look at the “down home” eateries in the area most favored by cowboys, cowgirls and the like

“You’re Not From Around Here, Are You?”—the large influence this area has on the international equine community

Program will be shot and delivered in High Definition format to be aired in HD.  Episodic Promos will accompany each episode.  Episodes will meet or exceed programming requirements as well as deadlines met.  As an FCC regulation all programs will be Closed Captioned.
