About the project:

Hello.  We are Endeavor Bros Interactive Software and Monkube and we are making an indie game called The Adventures of Retrobot.  The game centers around a simple household robot (Retro) and his simian sidekick Toto.   In the game, Retro and Toto are thrust into a grand adventure when his creator and best friend Spencer is abducted.  Now it is up to Retro and Toto to find and free their master.  Retrobot combines fast arcade style gameplay, with great storytelling, an amazing orchestral soundtrack,  beautiful artwork and many nostalgic throwbacks to the golden age of gaming.  Retrobot is a unique game because it seamlessly fuses a video game with a comic book.  In between levels the story is advanced in the pages of a comic book.

Our Vision:

Our goal is to make a game of such high quality that even a big development studio like EA or Gameloft would be proud to call our game their own.  In order to do so we decided to seek out some of the best people in their respective fields to work with us.  For both the in-game graphics and the artwork for the comic we are working with Ape Entertainment.  Ape Entertainment is best known in the iPhone community for creating and publishing the very successful Pocket God comic.  In the mainstream community, Ape Entertainment is best known for being the company that Dreamworks chose to publish their Shrek, Megamind, and Kung Fu Panda comic series.  The head producer and head of the development team for the game is Viorel Christea.  Viorel previously worked for Gameloft which is the #1 iPhone developer.  His final project before moving on was N.O.V.A. a Halo-esque game that has received critical acclaim and staggering sales on the iPhone.  The soundtrack for the game is being created by a former composer who has come out of retirement in order to help make our game, the very best it can possibly be.

Why we need your money:

The iPhone IOS platform has given the amazing opportunity for anyone who has the vision and the wherewithal to see it through to make a great app or game.  You don’t need to be a big development studio to make a great game.  You can just be 4 regular guys from different parts of the world who have come together believing that they can make a game on par with that of the big boys.  We want to know that the gaming community is on our side.  People just like us who love games and want to put that power back in the hands of the gamers.  We don’t just want your money but your input as well.  Funding us will give you the opportunity to do just that.  You will get a chance to be a part of the process and put your own personal stamp on the game.  After all, Retrobot is about you, it is for you therefore it is your input above all else that we need in order to faithfully represent you.

What the money will be used for:

We are already very deep into development process of Retrobot.  We expect the game to be released in the fall of 2011 for all IOS platforms.  What your money will be used for will aid us in the following:

1. Add more polish to the artwork and graphics so that they game can launch with retina display graphics. 
2. We will be able to release the game on other platforms including; Android, PC, Mac, Xbox and PSN Networks, Wii Ware, the PSP and the Nintendo 3DS.
3. We have a number of updates already planned.  Your pledges  will allow us to get them out faster.  We won’t have to wait for sales to allow for it. 

We envision Retrobot as a trilogy.  Your money will allow us to develop and release the sequels quicker.  We would be able to work on them immediately after the 1st game is launched.
