What
is Angry Viking Press?
Angry Viking Press started in 2006 as a collaboration between myself and Jason and Jerrold Farrington and Brendan Olmstead. After years of seeing our artist friends trying to get published, we took it upon ourselves to start a company that respects their talents, and helps these creative people from multiple genres find an outlet for their works. Please check out our video above! It's not that long, and it helps explain some things. (International translations coming soon!)
Angry Viking Press LLC is made up of people from many creative fields from animation to design and of course, comics; both traditional and web based. It is a company founded on the desire to bring the varied talents, skills and creativity of these passionate creators to as many people as possible through various channels. I took on the challenge of something like this and have been deeply committed to the friends of Angry Viking Press, despite personal, financial hardships, and recent health issues.
But it's been a long time since 2006! It is now 2012, and finally after much hard work and networking, we now have an opportunity to get national distribution and have a chance to help even more talent. Now we’re looking to expand our market and our lineup. However, even with all that has been accomplished, we can not afford to continue this business on our own; nor do we wish to see this end especially with so much more that can be done. I've also see this company as a place where creators can get their feet wet and find a place to grow and improve their skills. To that end we need more funding, and that’s where you come in!
WHAT THIS KICKSTARTER WILL PAY FOR
First of all, our initial goal of $12,000 will go towards paying the creators, the artists, writers and other staff. Without their hard work and dedication, these current properties can't continue! Funds will also go towards printing costs as well as much-needed resources such as updated computers, proper scanners, printers, and website maintenance. As well, necessary funds will go to distribution and promotional expenses for the expanded line-up, not to mention helping to publish existing properties such as EVIL DIVA!

We also have other goals in mind that can be brought into production much sooner with stretch funding beyond our original goal. These will be comic projects including but not limited to:
- My Life with Fel: A living weapon built for infiltration and assassination faces her toughest mission yet... learning how to be human and pay the rent with her nerdy boyfriend. By Kenno Arkkan
- Galaxy Magnolia: Can humanity, and the near-extinct Tethicans work together and rebuild the Earth? Or will the crush one human girl has for the last natural born Tethican male mean the end for him and his species?
Jason Canty's "The Stellor Warriors" and Stellor Warriors prequel Mini-series: Vixianna, Eric Sill, Whiplash, and Lizzan.
With your pledges... You can make Angry Viking Press bring these creations to you as many people as possible!
That's great and all but any bigger plans?
Of course we do! This whole company was started to honor a promise made to my artist friends, and they as well as I would love to see more avenues open up! We may even add 3-4 additional titles depending on the success of our Kickstarter project! But here's a teaser: we're actively pursuing some licensed property. How would you like to see an old comic series or retro toy line come back to life? ;) Let us know what you think! Also since some of our staff and fan-base is international, providing translations for our fans outside of the U.S. in both print and digital format is a goal of mine.
And should stretch funding be greatly successful, we may even be able to bring in a line of AVP action figures, starting with Shawntae Howard's character Artica!
We already have access to a few toy makers, and should the AMAZING happen and we rocket past our goals, then other characters will be put up and offered as action figures as well.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
I believe the challenge is just reaching out to the Kickstarter community, and letting them know that we can provide what they want, in exactly the way they want it.
Afterwards, it'll be handling the artists, organizing their commissions and the risk of printing and production of the incentives, generally making sure everything goes as planned.

Well its not officially funded until November 14th. So for the next 12 days this is still not officially funded until the last second.
If this stays at $12,000 or higher on the 14th, then I will receive the funds in about 1 two 2 weeks per Kickstarter's collection process, and that's when I send out the orders for everyone's items. Some items are still currently underdevelopment so they will take longer to produce. Each pledge has an Estimated Delivery time.
