OUR THOUGHTS:
We want to tell you about the craziest thing we have ever done. Rather, we want to tell you about the craziest thing we have ever planned to do. In this modern day, the influx of media has left the hopes of achieving any sort of real success or distinction through strictly digital mediums, (i.e. recordings and videos) a naive dream at best. That is why we have decided to launch ourselves across this great nation, in hopes of connecting with people in a manner that can’t be downloaded on the internet. On March 7th, 2013, Eliquate will be embarking on our first national tour, "ELIQUATE DOES AMERICA."
In order for this tour to be realized, we need your continued support with two aspects. First is with the idea, the idea that the culmination of our creative energy over the last four years, is worth trying to share with this country, that every shred of sacrifice we have endured is insurmountable to the feeling of privilege that overwhelms us when thinking that we could make a living doing what we love, at least for a little while. The idea that there might be a possibility we can help someone with our music, and simply knowing there is a chance for that is worth fighting for. So we bought a bus, took it around the west coast for a few years, and noticed that we might be onto something. This lead us to believe that we could actually take this circus to all four corners of this country, as to continue to nourish and grow this idea.
Second thing is your support of us. As a D.I.Y. operation, Eliquate has always depended on support from our fans to keep afloat. We have no outside funding other than our fans, and our members which allows us complete control of our music. Your support of our operation is a form of pure democracy in the music business, and if you would like your voice to be heard, then we hope you take advantage of this opportunity.
We believe kickstarter is the perfect way to assist us in our cause. By making a donation, you are directly contributing to keeping us on the road, playing for the people. Not only does that contribution come with a healthy dose of self satisfaction, we also have a list of incentives that vary by donation. Your donations will make this venture a whole lot easier for us, but we are still taking a pretty big leap as a band embarking on this tour. Although we have already gone on three smaller tours, this trip is a whole new beast, but it’s one we think can tackle with some backup from our fans. we aren't asking you to pick up whole bill, do all the work, or even make this easy for us. If everything we have planned works out this tour will take around 42 days and all of us risking our health, day jobs, and sanity to realize our dream of bringing our music to the whole continental united states. all we want is the ability to take the risk and face this challenge, and a little extra push from all of you is all that we need.
Tour Expenses: $10,000
Gas: 10,500 miles / 8 miles per gallon x $3.91 diesel = $5100.00
CDs: $800 - best price break
EPs: $500 - smaller order
Merch: $1000 - shirts (men/woman), demo cd’s
Promo: $700 - posters, fliers, stickers, press promo
Food: $400 - we plan on losing a few pounds
Trailer: $1000 - solid lockable trailer
Bus Maintence: $500 - oil change (16 quarts) x 2, new mirrors, make the bus water tight , a new bunk bed for Sam
We are an 8 man DIY team.
Elliot has been at it for 6 years.
The band has been together for 3 years.
We book, promote and run our own company.
We have no schooling in this.
This is our biggest venture yet.
We are ready for it.
