Hello, and thanks for considering my project! I am planning to open my first public gallery, an edgy mix of high fashion and fine art, promoting a positive view of women's sexuality.
The purpose of this project is two fold- I would like to showcase my work and in doing so, also want to make it a truly positive event, by contributing to a good cause. I am merging my passion, high-fashion photography, with a strong statement, encouraging women to stand up and embrace their sexuality without shame.
Artistically, the gallery will be primarily nudes with a high-fashion style, not “pin-up”, erotica, or glamor. The images will be shot with a sometimes whimsical and surreal, sometimes stark emotion, hitting an edgy and intense vibe without relying solely on the model's nudity. My photography is heavily inspired by the work in “Purple Magazine”- a very progressive, vivid, fine art/fashion magazine. Models will be photographed in a series of images, seeking to express their particular style, and perhaps drawing a subtle narrative when viewed as one.

To clarify, this is not about promiscuity, but simply accepting, and celebrating, ourselves for who we are sexually. Every model I photograph is a volunteer who is genuinely excited to be part of this, both to be in the gallery, and to encourage other women toward their own acceptance.
The gallery will be open to the public, with no entrance fee, however I will gladly accept donations at the door and am giving half of the proceeds to a local domestic violence shelter for women. The gallery will be open for 2 weeks initially, up to a month if extra funding comes through. There will also be a very fun opening night with complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine, and music. I am planning on having the gallery in the heart of Chicago, where I believe it will have the best chance at attracting and being found by those who will appreciate it most.
The Kickstarter funds will be used for: gallery space rental, photo studio rental, opening night food and drinks, promotional materials, prints and frames, and assistants.
