About this project

We are looking to offer non-partisan political books for third-party candidates. OnTheIssues.org presents candidates' issue stances, as opposed to lifestyle biographies or reviews of campaign horseraces. We have self-published four books from major party candidates (such as "Ron Paul vs. Barack Obama On The Issues", available on Amazon). We would like to produce and publish "Gary Johnson vs. Mitt Romney On The Issues", for the Libertarian Party nominee. We currently cover Gov. Johnson on our website, and we are looking for commitments to 100 book sales to justify the research and production costs. Upon production of "Johnson vs. Romney," it will become an Amazon offering alongside our major-party candidate offerings.

Gary Johnson's web page is on our website at:

A sample Amazon book, for "Ron Paul vs. Barack Obama On The Issues", is at: http://www.amazon.com/Newt-Gingrich-vs-Paul-Issues/dp/1468112791/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326676077&sr=1-6 Our "Romney vs. Perry book has numerous "Look Inside" pages on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Romney-vs-Perry-Issues-1/dp/1468036459/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326676077&sr=1-4

FAQ

  • Four chapters: Domestic issues; Economic issues; Social issues; International issues. Each chapter will have a dozen quotations from Johnson on topics that Romney has also spoken about. Each quotation is summarized for quick reference and analyzed when they use insider jargon.

Our format for the Gary Johnson book will match the format for the previous six major-party books; see as an example http://www.ontheissues.org/OTI_Paul_Obama.htm

  • It's easy to SAY that Gary Johnson substantially differs from Mitt Romney's policy stances -- but you can use this book as a reference to PROVE it. Keep it on your coffeetable so when your visitors say, "Why should we vote for the Libertarian nominee? Will he really make a difference on military spending?" you can flip to the page entitled "Military Spending" and directly compare Johnson's shrink-the-Pentagon stance with Romney's grow-the-Pentagon stance. And the same for dozens of other issues!

  • Yes, in the following ways:

    1) OnTheIssues.org gives equal coverage to the Libertarian nominee in comparison to the Democratic and Republican nominees (and other third party nominees). Try finding that on CNN or Fox News!

    2) OnTheIssues.org got 20 million viewers in the 2008 election cycle. We expect more for the 2012 election cycle. Our average viewer reads 8 pages per visit (much higher than the industry average). That means millions of people will be exposed to Gary Johnson's views.

    3) This book will help viewers find our website on google because our Gary Johnson page will be better indexed due to the more substantive content this book will provide. More content means more google, which means more people exposed to the Libertarian nominee.

    4) This book will get onto Amazon, which currently has zero books about Gary Johnson. Our publishing method guarantees Amazon access -- such as for this book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1468036459/issues2000org/

    5) Our political analysis centers on a modified Nolan Chart, which identifies the political philosophy of each presidential candidate based on our 20-question VoteMatch quiz. Check it out!
