Kickstarter

I thought it would be a clever idea to do my 1976 high school journal as a blog but I never realized just how many people the world over could relate on so many levels to my general seventeen year old geekiness. The blog quickly became amazingly popular with coverage from major sites and write-ups from various different countries. 

As it wound down, a writer friend suggested I do it as a graphic novel. I couldn't see much attraction there.Much of it would consist of me reading books or going to movies. But then other friends, including a couple more writers, said I simply had to do it as a book. 

With publishing being in the state of flux it's in these days, I decided to see if I could raise the money to do it the way I see it in my head--a facsimile journal cover with my geeky picture, expanded annotations and more historical perspective and as many of the original illustrations and photos as we could legally reprint...along with new ones, as well!

The money you donate will go toward the goal of clearing some of those rights and then self-publishing A GEEK'S JOURNAL-1976: THE BOOK OF THE BLOG. Relive more of the Bicentennial year with me and remember what it was like for you.
