Update #8: 13 Days To Go!!!
Hello to all! If you didn’t gather from the title of today’s update, we are down to 13 days on our Kickstarter campaign! This weekend MASS MoCA had our Solid Sound Festival with Wilco as our headliner as well as several more acts including Vetiver, Avi Buffalo, and of course Mavis Staples just to name a few. Over the course of three days, we had a lot of festival goers intrigued about the Kid Koala event, and passed out some fliers detailing how to donate to the Kickstarter campaign, so we hope to hear back from those visitors who were excited about Space Cadet. It was great to hear enthusiasm about the project, and have people say they would come back to MASS MoCA this December to see the performance!
Today we bring you a photo of Kid Koala, and our deepest thanks to all of our backers.

Update #4: A Robot, A Sea of People, and a Letter
Greetings Cadets!
We are working on a video that we hope to have posted soon, and we have a surprise for our Kickstarter followers!
We thought we would show you some amazing images ( in their original black and white) from Kid Koala's Space Cadet graphic novel.

Update #3: Typewriters, Classical Piano, and Cantonese: Kid Koala's Interview with the Vancouver Observer
Hello all!
We are making steady progress toward our fundraising goal since going live a few days ago and we thank all of our backers for supporting our project! Today we have a space-tacular interview with Kid Koala for the Vancouver Observer, which reveals the Canadian DJ to be a surprisingly skilled, ambitious and insightful musician and graphic novelist.
Some interesting bits of his background:
-Born in Vancouver, he grew up in a Maryland suburb of Washington, DC, and moved to Montreal where he now lives.
-He has a degree in childhood education from McGill University in Montreal.
-He was trained as a classical pianist, and has played at The Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
-He says there is an “anthropological side” to being a DJ, and layers his musical compositions with eclectic samples including the voices of Cookie Monster and Charlie Brown, chamber music, doors creaking, typewriters clacking, and a man reading from a Cantonese menu.

Update #2: Upgrades: Editioned Prints and "Special Space Adventure Mix"

This marks day two of our efforts with Kickstarter, and we have some exciting developments to our reward tiers. Kid Koala decided that he is going to provide a beautiful limited edition print of a page from the Space Cadet book for donors of $75 and up. AND if that is not enough he decided that one free download was not enough and is creating a “special space adventure mix” to reward you for your pledge. What can be more exciting than an upgrade? Thanks to Kid Koala!

So come check out our “art-making factory” (formerly a textile mill and electronics plant) nestled in the rollicking, misty hills of the Berkshires. Wonder at the upside down trees and weather-sensing clock tower. Take a free guided tour through Sol LeWitt’s three-floor labyrinth of endlessly alluring wall drawings. After a long day, grab a bite to eat at the Lickety Split café and ice cream parlor, with many delicious menu items for under ten dollars (try the Spicy Thai Burrito).

And ask your guest to take your picture in front of a LeWitt wall drawing, like thousands of other visitors (just check Flickr!)

For pledging at this level you’ll get two free admissions to MASS MoCA, plus you get the spectacular limited edition Space Cadet print, but this one will be signed by his Koala-ness, the Kid himself (and maybe he’ll throw in a few doodles)!

You get two free admissions to MASS MoCA, a signed limited edition print, and two tickets to the Kid Koala performance on December 11. And you’ll be given special access to witness Kid Koala’s live rehearsal in the Hunter Center. We look forward to seeing you at MASS MoCA!
