“A travel film from Katrina to the mountaintop Kingdom of the Dalai Lama"
I am raising money to enter "Karma Walkers" into film festivals. The $2500 will be used to clear the film's music, print DVDs and posters, and pay the entry fees to 10 festivals. Here is a quick description of the film:
Embedded in a radical study experience abroad, video journalist Bill Delano tells the story of 12 students from Tulane’s School of Social Work who volunteered to teach English in the mountaintop kingdom of the Dalai Lama.
Can they get past their traditional western views of right and wrong or grow with a people who value compassion above everything else? Will living and working in a place as foreign as the new center of Tibetan Buddhism in Dharamsala, India help or hinder their efforts to widen their own capacity for caring for others?
If you’ve ever thought about dropping everything to travel to the other side of the world to champion the cause of a displaced people, then this film might just inspire you to try.
