Hi Pebblers,
Due to extraordinary interest from our backers, we've decided to introduce a 5th Pebble colour option: Grey! Here's the current state of the Pebble rainbow:

In order to keep track of every single backer's shipping information and color selection, we created a Pebble Account site. An invitation has been sent to the same email address that you used on Kickstarter when you backed Pebble. You can find the email in your inbox by searching for an email

Inside that email there is a special link that invites you to create a new password for your Pebble Account. If you can't find that email in your inbox, check your spam filter as message may be misclassified. If you can't find it, make sure that kickstarter@getpebble.com is on your safe-email list and then request a password reset here.
Using the Pebble Account website, you can choose your Pebble's color, enter your current shipping address and pay any shipping fees that were not included in your pledge on Kickstarter. You have until Sept 30, 2012 to select which color you'd like. As for your shipping address, please enter your current address into the system. You can return to account.getpebble.com at any time before your Pebble ships and change your address if you move.

- Shipping test has been working out well. We sent 120 test shipments to a few backers around the world to test our logistics provider and optimize the process to ensure that packages arrive safely, quickly and with as few fees as possible to our backers.

When my Pebble arrives, I will slave away for hours making a watch face design that makes me smile every time I look at it! I'm creative by nature, and even small design projects that I work on give me a constant source of satisfaction when I look at them. Being able to wear my own artwork in a totally functional way will be more than awesome! Pebble has been a creative tour de force since it was conceived of and I am delighted that the SDK allows others to add to that! Bravo!

I've just skim-read the last week's worth of comments and they have everything: whining, impatience, paranoia, praise, and entitlement. My comment? Let me preface by saying that I am as eager as the next person to have the Pebble on my wrist already. Having said that, 1) Kickstarter projects are PROJECTS and projects, by definition have unforeseens that affect timeline, cost, delivery date. I FULLY expect projects involving new products to have delays. Duh. 2) The people at Pebble appear to have their heads screwed on right, know what they are doing, and trying to get out the door a product that exceeds our expectations. I am happy about that philosophy. 3) To the ones whining about the amount they have put at risk for a Pebble: NO ONE put a gun to your head, it was YOUR choice to want to have something cool and if you chose to plunk down $100 or $150 bucks for this LUXURY/TOY vs. spending it on your kids' food, your medicing, or car repairs, i.e. NECESSITIES, then you need to take a hard look in the mirror about your values and priorities. 4) Kickstarter projects are more than just about getting something back. It's about PARTICIPATION and SUPPORT of other people's dreams: it's NOT about your selfish instant-gratification entitlement view of the world. 5) For the paranoid wacky-techies who scrutinize the videos and updates so they expound smugly here on what they think is "wrong" or "fake": channel that jealousy into a project of your own.
Sheesh... don't you people have a life not tied to getting a WATCH, cool as it will be when it FINALLY arrives?? Have some perspective. Use this energy and play with your kids or go fly a kite. I mean it in the real world - not metaphorically - GO OUTSIDE AND FLY A KITE and get rid of this negative attitude!
As for you who work at Pebble. DON'T let a 2nd rate product out the door, but also DON'T delay so as to add a bell or whistle that can come in an update. DO send more updates: they don't need to be fancy. We just want to know you ARE working and making progress....and not in a bar in Shanghai buying "champagne" for the bar-girls.

I'm sorry...but since we made contributions to this project, I think we deserve the rights to know and get more updates. I understand what they said about the shipping date and updates frequency, but they also said estimated shipping date is Sept...I don't think anyone will be ok with a indefinite shipping date for any product delivery...so I don't think any of the backers, regardless you are a first timer or a veteran, should think there's anything wrong with sending questions to the project starters

When I back this project was because they promised a delivered in September. Now, September is almost gone and it clearly that they were not able to meet their promises. I was charged immediately right after I backed this project and now I have to wait possible until next year when the watch reach retail store. I shouldn't wait until then.

They also said that the updates will come every three weeks. Given that this one was on the 6th, expect the next one to be around the 27th.

Ok. So I think it's like this. iOS 6 is out this week. iPhone 5 is out next month. The boys will probably need to run a good few tests on iOS 6 etc ... Even though the sdk is out a while. They probably need to make a few ... Test the final product. Maybe give them to a bunch of 5 yr olds to play with, knock them about a bit. All of which takes some time. Then when they have hopfully withstood that onslought they might just trust us with them enough to send them to us. Now I for one would be happy to get it under the tree in December. Havent had presi that cool under the tree since I was 5!!

Apparently they tested the screen with a pair of palarizing sunglasses and the screen blanks out for a few degrees at around 45 degrees so it shouldn't be a problem.

Though I'm thankful for the fifth color option I think I'm gonna stick with black. In my opinion it has something the other colors don't have. A black screen with a black bezel sometimes creates the illusion that there is no bezel. (depending on the light and how you look at it) I see this on my phone everyday and I love it. (You can see that in several scenes of the main pebble video, too)
When I feel the need for another color some day I can still change the band.
However I also would like to see some images of the plastic samples before the end of the month.

I just wanted to say to the Pebble team that while I *hate* being patient, it makes it so much easier that you guys have been communicating so openly and regularly. The pictures and explanations in your updates that explain your decisions and the process are really interesting and give me a much deeper insight in all the work you're doing. I know it's probably annoying to have to make time in your already packed schedules to come explain every detail to a mob of crazed and demanding backers, but it's been my favorite part of this process! Grey is nice, thank you... but a nice dark blue is missing. Would look great great a fill in a hole in the spectrum! Go on, just one more colour, against the 80k you are building it wouldn't be a major stretch to do it... Ok, bleat over...!
