Color Voting is Now Open!

Update #16 · Jul 6, 2012 · 123 comments

Vote on the 4th Pebble Color

After the dust settled from our #ColorMyPebble campaign, we whittled the color list down to 12 options. To check them out, head on over to:

http://vote.getpebble.com

You'll notice that anyone can vote on this page. Only the votes of the Kickstarter color backers will count towards the 4th color option, but everyone is free to make their voice heard!

If you're a color backer, in order to ensure that your vote is counted, please use the same e-mail address that you used when backing Pebble on Kickstarter.

If you vote multiple times, only your last vote will be counted. You can vote as often as you like until the closing date on July 21, 2012. Please help us out and complete the survey after you vote, as it helps us get a better idea of our Pebble user base!

Don't worry about the strap color, this survey is focusing on the color of the watch body.

Thanks!

Eric + Pebble Team

@Andy, if you're unable to see the color properly how will the name of it help you vote? You'd chose it based on a name even though you have no idea what it actually looks like?

@Jonathan Dane is right. Bottom row second from the left is purple.

Everyone else feel free to try this. Add the hex code to the end of that URL and you'll see the color.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I could swear that I'm looking right at a purple swatch in the bottom row, Jonathan. Second from the left.

      Hex code: #7e5ac4

It's out of gamut for print, though, so he's the closest, printable equivalent: #775ea8

Pantone 2665 C is also a pretty close match.

      Not happy. =(

Could you update the colours with the names that you called them, from Pinterest? And maybe the hex values, so we can do a bit of a palette match.

I think I meant depth, but you know what I mean. How thin the watch is.

Faceplates are a great idea, but the Pebble team said early on that swappable faceplates would not be possible and keep the same width and keep the waterproof status.

Creator Giovanni Pandolfi on July 7, 2012

Do it just in black and sell the additional cases or faceplate so you can buy a set of colors for a low price.

@David Compare your monitor, whatever it is, to the crummy monitor used in public libraries, and then to the higher end Apple monitors. You'll see very quickly why names makes a difference.

Touch choice between the blue/grey one (far top left) or the lighter grey (mid far right), but I went with the silver.

At least until I change my vote.

What I would like to see is a run-off of the top 2 or 3 colors. There are a lot of these colors that could be competing because someone likes them equally, or they are similar.

    13. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Andy Huang on July 6, 2012

@Caffeine Junkie I would be more willing to accept that if that was the case.
      1) The green on 'top right' of the grid is closest to Robin Hood on Pinterest, which have a decent 19 likes; Retweet, albeit an ugly color that I personally don't prefer have 78 likes and didn't make the cut; Skippin' Pebbles, one that I would prefer much over that green, have 21 likes and didn't make the cut.
      2) The green next to that last one doesn't even appear to be from the list -- seems like a mixture between funding successful and certified backer!
      3) Also, Pinterst is an invitational only platform, I am willing to wager that majority of the backers does NOT have interest to sign up to be on some third party mailing list to WAIT and HOPE for an invite so they can sign up to another service to vote.

      1) I agree, it should be one vote per color watch backed -- look at each watch backed as one share of voting stock. As-is those who put less money on the line have the same say as those who risked more.

      2) Color names should be listed as screen monitors can differ and what may look like navy blue on one monitor shows as blue-gray on another.

      3) Optional survey doesn't work on Safari at least.

Creator Kenneth Steele on July 6, 2012

On the voting page, you should show four watches side-by-side. Three of the standard colours on static watches and then the fourth watch changes face as you preview colours. That way, you can see the entire line-up at once and see what fits in....or not!

Creator Jeff Mitchell on July 6, 2012

      Hi there,

If we pledged for a Distributor Pack, does our vote count as 10 votes compared to those that pledged for a single Pebble?

Obviously, we're going to internally decide on a single color to cast our vote for, but there will be the opinion of ten different people that pitched in behind that vote :-)

If you go to the non mobile version of the site you can see the color change on the watch face. Really helps in making a decision.

      Good choices

Please show us the current voting results.
Also it'd been great if you'd also given the Pinterests page's color name for reference. Am not able to properly find them, i.e. is the first one "Clean Slate"? looks similar, but different.

Oh, and finally: optional survey-page doesn't work :-(

Q: Will we be able to choose our prefered wristband (white or black) individually when the voting is over? I backed for two, if my vote (the last one, pale light green) wins, it'd be great to get one each with black and white band (for me and my geeky wife)

I am a pebble backer, but not for the colored version. I see everyone can vote but only the color backer votes count. Could we have the 'regular' backers get a fractional vote? If the watch is as awesome as we all hope I'll probably want to buy another one, possibly color, in the future, so the options are of some importance to me.

    33. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Caffeine Junkie on July 6, 2012

Andy, the colors listed are probably the most popular colors from the Pinterest site. If the colors you like aren't in the list it's unlikely they would have won the vote anyway.

    46. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Andy Huang on July 6, 2012

Guys, I am kind of disappointed for two reasons:
      1) All the good colors are not listed, and
      2) Backers for 10 watches like me might end up fighting with my friends for that one precious vote.

      Not cool :/

Love the blue top row second from the left - great soothing but unusual colour (no, not a typo - we in NZ use the British spelling of colour).

Why not have some interchangeable straps as an option, sell them as part of a more pricey option - a Pebble watch and three interchangeable straps? Will appeal to the more fashion conscious.

      Counting down the days....very exciting!
