And one more thing...
You've written comments, sent us email, tweeted @pebblewatch and posted on facebook.com/getpebble. I want to thank you for this. Today, we'd like to announce that your enthusiasm has helped convince us to move the entire Pebble roadmap forward and bring you a brand new feature.
Bluetooth 4.0 - inside every Pebble!
All Pebble watches will support Bluetooth 2.1 (as before) as well as Bluetooth 4.0 (Low Energy)

We're limiting Kickstarter rewards to 85,000 Pebbles
Just wanted to let everyone know that our current plan is to limit the total number of Kickstarter rewards to around 85,000 Pebbles. As soon as the total exceeds that, all rewards will change to being 'sold out'. Right now you have claimed 75,000 watches, that leaves only 10,000 more before Pebble is sold out!

Wee I got one!! Not a pack for my coworkers, but atleast I'm in!
Creator Jonathan on May 18, 2012
You guys who missed out, you could keep checking back as suggested... or you could get a script to check for you (i.e., refresh the page every X seconds, and if it matches 1 of XXXXX remaining it plays a nice loud alarm which is your signal to BACK NOW!).
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/oilipfekkmncanaajkapbpancpelijih is a nifty one for Chrome, I backed mine a few days ago. ;)
Go go go, 19 hours!
Creator Hector Lee on May 17, 2012
bummer.... i was busy and didn't check back on the updates and missed it.
Creator Øystein Jakobsen on May 15, 2012
@Adam I didn't even get that - I thought it was e-paper, and was figuring if the watch didnt update that often it would last much longer than a week....
Marketing tricks be damned! Its like the Apple marketing 3G support as 4G support, because everthing faster than standard 3G must be 4G...
Creator Øystein Jakobsen on May 15, 2012
@Josh Dammit... now I gotta check Kickstarter every 5 seconds for the next three days, and our national holiday is at the 17th of May...
Creator Gareth Martin on May 14, 2012
It's sharp that call it e-paper, and I think they made the term up (e-ink is the famous kind of screen that doesn't need power to keep its image), so I don't have a problem with them calling it that.
Creator Adam Scheuring on May 14, 2012
Marketing the display as e-paper while designing it with a SHARP memory LCD is a bit of a shady move.
Creator Josh Robinson on May 14, 2012
Just keep checking back. People change their mind. I just became a backer 10 mins ago.
Creator shaunyk on May 12, 2012
Serves you right, John. Get your wallet out a bit sooner next time. I ordered mine the second I saw it, before they even reached their target and I can't wait! Don't worry I'm sure your Casio is fine anyway. Haha.
Creator Pena Schmidt on May 11, 2012
I hope you decide you will be doing just 85000 watches not one more. This could be a real feel good move for we all. You get the best shot in a lifetime, you get out and retire, with marching band. That is it, one more watch and is end of fun, begin of the rat race if you really try to compete in this commoditized watch biz. Go for space hotels, we will back you times ten!
Creator LowSky on May 11, 2012
It sucks I cant order a watch because you guys decided to limit your launch after the fact. Plenty of other kickstarter projects go well beyond their goals, and find a way to bring their products to the users, even if it means changing release dates, or sending them out in waves. Shame on you guys. You could have made millions more.
Creator calvinbean on May 11, 2012
Agree with Mick: If you know you want to back it, put on your big-boy pants and do it right away! On the other hand, if there is a Kickstarter project that I'm interested in but have not yet sure enough about it to pull the trigger, I check the page every day, exactly because of this sort of thing. The nice thing about most Kickstarter projects is that they do become available outside of Kickstarter, so you haven't really lost anything except time and a small discount. What you avoid is the small but real risk that a product never comes to market.
For Pebble, Mrs Bean was pretty sure she wanted one but I wasn't convinced. (I'm using a LunaTik'd iPod Nano, so why do I need a Pebble?) When I saw the 85k limit, we talked it out & decided to get two. Worst case scenario is that one goes on eBay, but I suspect that once we have them in-hand we'll want to keep them both.
Creator Mick Bou-Samra on May 11, 2012
I guess the old saying comes into play for a lot of people here - 'You Snooze, You Lose'...
I was backer number 158. For the people who are saying that they were waiting for payday, that makes no sense as Amazon only charges your card on the 18th. the same day as everyone else.
Advice to everyone - If you find a great project, Back It Immediately, you may not get a second chance...
Creator Lymz on May 11, 2012
Same here. I was going to order 2, for me and my wife, but i had a few other family and friends interested. A second order window would be great. Otherwise, I'll be placing an order on the site.
Creator Charlie Schick on May 11, 2012
Ugh. Now I realize I missed it by a day or two. (shakes fists at Fate)
Creator Charlie Schick on May 11, 2012
Lesson learned. I was taking my time to pledge (I've been promoting your Kickstarter run for a very long time). And today, coming in to get two, I see that I am late.
Now I know to just pledge right away instead of waiting for the end. :-P
I just never expected capping pledges. But I understand, there's only so many you can make with this first run. I put my name in the Buck Backers in case you open up for more pleadges.
Congrats!
Creator John McCormick on May 11, 2012
Thanks for adding BT 4. I'm very much looking forward to the watch and I understand why you did your cutoff. They should make kickstarter projects so they can be based on a time or meeting a goal (funding completed, etc).
Creator Jost L. Hansen on May 11, 2012
I'm in the same situation as Thomas and Øystein.
A collegue an I saw this 21 days ago and thought we would go for the two Pebbles pledge. But then we thought if we could find 3 more collegues we could go for the 5 Pebbles pledge. We found more than that and thought lets go for the 10 Pebbles pledge. And we found them all.
But as I was the one who would pay with my credit card, I would be sure that all my collegues had transfered money to before backing. I'm missing two.
And then I thought what the heck, I'll back to day as I was certain to get the last money next week. And then sold out. I'm normally checking the updates but failed the last one.
But I really like the suggestion Thomas Cap came with. The one with second order window :-)
Creator Øystein Jakobsen on May 11, 2012
@Josh I guess I am a bad sport/sore looser/grinch then. I have been without a watch for 2 years looking for the perfect nerd-watch, and was so happy I finally found one! Now I will get one much later, for twice the price, not through crowdfunding and must disappoint all my buddies and coworkers. I also get to beat myself up about not signing on earlier, as (with all my pledges) want to stick to them once I made them - as encouraged by Kickstarter.
'Cource Im sad to be left behind when you guys start walking on the 18th, though I guess I just have to chalk this up to a learning experience and reserve a seat on anything interesting and just cancel at the last minute.
Creator VinceP949 on May 11, 2012
Please be aware of the Bluetooth prioritization in regards to Siri. It would appear that My current Bluetooth watch communicates with my iPhone 1st over my BT headset,, it will interfere with the prioritization, it chooses the watch as its first priority and my Bluetooth headset as the second priority. This interferes with my ability to use Siri and some certain voice apps.
Creator calvinbean on May 10, 2012
I still wish they had let it go until the time was up. If you're already at 100x the target, how much worse can 120x be?
Creator Andy Armitage on May 10, 2012
Nice wok on the 4.0...that seemed to be a major theme in the function request thread.
I use the golf app Golfshot GPS by Shotzoom, has there been any conversation with them for integration? I will pose the question to them as well.
Thanks again, and good luck in manufacturing!
Creator j0e on May 10, 2012
I asked this on the IAmA but I was too late :(
For a newbie programmer, what are some projects I can work on before the Pebble SDK releases that will "prepare me" for similar development? Thanks!
Creator Rene Koch on May 10, 2012
u can still get the watch just not first batch!
Creator Thomas Cap on May 10, 2012
@Josh Harney I understand the reasons and there are no hard feelings. Simply bad luck, that I didn't visit the site in the last 48 hours and I didn't know that the "Remind me" button doesn't send important updates like this :)
The only thing I would like to see is maybe a second order window for people like me and Øystein - same prize, but later delivery in e.g. December 2012. The 150$+ they accounced for the retail product is much more than the 115$ I would have liked to spend. I don't want to be cheap, but being in Europe I also have to consider shipping and customs too, and the later is price dependent too. Well, better luck next time I gues :)
Creator Brian Holme on May 10, 2012
you can pre order one soon so dont worry about it. they will just get it after the rest of us besides they where not expecting $10mil they even said they were only expecting to sell about 1,000 watches and when it got as high as it is now they where way over there budget so they have to wait till they get paid for anything else thats just how life goes i think people should look at the positive side of this and dont say "i didnt get a watch" should be happy that someone originally from a team of 5 to now a team of 10 because of this success and the possabilitys this means for future gadgets
Creator Josh Harney on May 10, 2012
Øystein Jakobsen & Thomas Cap: Surely you realize that the limitation here is one of manufacturing scale and parts availability? The Pebble team is trying to be responsible by making sure that if they take your money, they can deliver their promised reward. From my end, that is something to be recognized, and applauded, not something to give them trouble over.
Øystein Jakobsen: Long story short, you waited, well after the point when funding was certain, and you lost out. Don't be a poor sport about it.
Creator Øystein Jakobsen on May 10, 2012
Thomas Cap - same for me. As Kickstarter discourages cancelling pledges, I was organizing friends. Bam, out of luck. I believe this is bad form by Pebble. They can't change the project funding date, and yet they effectively have by stopping all rewards...
Surely disappointed myself, not to mention friends and co-workers that are gonna be sore about me grinding their ear about how fantastic Pebble is and agreeing to get one.
Creator Scott Bruins on May 10, 2012
$10 million?! Anyone else just have a holey $#!& moment?
Creator Rand Chua TL on May 10, 2012
Hmm all sold out? Can we, all the backers each get a free Pebbles T-Shirt to tell peoples we support Pebble? Or one T-Shirt per watch so all who wear the watch, also can wear the T-shirt?
Creator Ofir Cohen on May 10, 2012
any chance the people up there will grace us with 50 more?
Creator Thomas Cap on May 10, 2012
It never was about the money Jay - friends asked me to order one for them and I had to wait for people to decide if I should order the Office (5pcs) or Distributor (10 pcs) pack. People took to long, and now nobody will get one :(
Creator Jay Emond on May 10, 2012
To the couple of people who said they "had to wait" to order, you need to realize that Kickstarter will not charge your credit card until after the funding period is over (ie. May 18 at 11:00 PM EDT). It makes no difference when you pledge, as long as you have the funds to cover it at that time. Kickstarter even gives you a little grace period if there is a problem with your payment.
Creator Thomas Cap on May 10, 2012
Oh great, I had to wait a little bit becaus a few friends asked me to order an Office Pack for all of us. Now a) I won't get a Pebble and b) 4 people will hate me for the rest of their life :(
Creator Ofir Cohen on May 10, 2012

Personally I was hoping that the next update would be a pulse monitor. I thought it would fit in beautifully with the functionality of the watch. BT4 is nice too i guess.

Kind regards, Bernhard.
Creator raeff on May 10, 2012
I thought I snapped one of the last open rewards (at least I could select the "One Jet Black Pebble watch." option), but now I got an email from Kickstarter that says: "You have successfully changed your pledge" and suddendly I get no reward at all? Sorry, but $130 is too much for getting nothing...
Kind regards, Bernhard.

Got a question : I pledged for the black option, but I've been having some second thoughts about getting a color one instead. Is it possible, given the "sold out" change, to change my pledge level and have the option of a color choice?
Creator James Panagis on May 9, 2012
I love your product immensely, and I missed out on buying one because I was waiting for pay day. But, I pledged $1 to be updated, so PLEASE release another small limited run for those who pledged there interest!

Creator Eli Allen on May 9, 2012
BTLE sensors like heart rate straps (and ANT+ sensors) are transmit only meaning your phone sends no data to it. The end effect of this is a heart rate strap and pair with multiple devices at the same time without issue
Creator Ross Biro on May 9, 2012
Ant+ dongles are available for most phones. I would recommend getting one as a near term solution. Even if the chipset supports ant+, I doubt the watch firmware will for a long time.
Creator Eli Allen on May 9, 2012
I hope that if the chipset you're using supports Bluetooth 4.0 that it also will work with ANT+ and thats what all my cycling gear uses. (from a technical perspective BTLE and ANT+ are very similar so many chipsets do both)
