And one more thing...
You've written comments, sent us email, tweeted @pebblewatch and posted on facebook.com/getpebble. I want to thank you for this. Today, we'd like to announce that your enthusiasm has helped convince us to move the entire Pebble roadmap forward and bring you a brand new feature.
Bluetooth 4.0 - inside every Pebble!
All Pebble watches will support Bluetooth 2.1 (as before) as well as Bluetooth 4.0 (Low Energy)

We're limiting Kickstarter rewards to 85,000 Pebbles
Just wanted to let everyone know that our current plan is to limit the total number of Kickstarter rewards to around 85,000 Pebbles. As soon as the total exceeds that, all rewards will change to being 'sold out'. Right now you have claimed 75,000 watches, that leaves only 10,000 more before Pebble is sold out!

I just started to wonder if there will be a serial number with every device...
Since these are 85000 units from the very first batch of the very first project that broke the 10 Million $ Barrier on Kickstarter these might be worth a small fortune some time in the future if you are willing to sell it :-)
Any way to laser etch those?!?
Creator Sam Ulrich on May 9, 2012
This single item makes me believe that this website is a real life version of the "shut up and take all my money!" meme. Every time I read about or watch a video of the Pebble, I just want to throw money at my computer screen until one appears.
Creator Yankee Doodle on May 9, 2012
Thanks! I just made my pledge for two from one
Creator Christian Lembke on May 9, 2012
wow, very cool!
Creator Brian Holme on May 9, 2012
heart rate monitor will have to be connected to the phone wont be able to connect to watch directly. atleast not till someone programs an app for direct sensor connections
Creator calvinbean on May 9, 2012
Excited about BT 4.0 but very disappointed about the artificial limit of 85k Pebbles. I'm in for two, but I really wanted to see how high this one would go.
Creator pzboyz on May 9, 2012

"But if I connect a heart-rate monitor to the watch, will the watch still stay connected to the phone?"
Or, if Pebble connects to the HRM, will the HRM still connect to the phone? The answer is likely to be a no at this time.
Making the UI and UX on Pebble simple must be a priority for the Pebble team, and making the use of HRM by Pebble is not going to be at all simple due to the limitations described here.

"I'm very excited! But why wait later to turn on the BT 4.0?" Pebble licences a BT Stack, it is likely that stack is not yet proven to be able to cope with a dual mode chip.
Creator Jesper on May 9, 2012
You say that, one of the ideas behind Bluetooth 4.0, is support for heart-rate sensors. But if I connect a heart-rate monitor to the watch, will the watch still stay connected to the phone?
Creator Richard on May 9, 2012
It would be awesome if the Pebble would support the Wahoo Fitness BlueHR heart rate strap. - It works on Bluetooth 4.0.
Creator Lesiu on May 9, 2012
Guys, you are the best!
Creator Aaron Kucera on May 9, 2012
AWESOME! I was really hoping you guys would add BT 4 support. Thanks!!!
Creator Debiie Luisa on May 9, 2012
Just backed this! Super excited! Just hope the warranty covers my side of the world :P
Creator Bernie on May 9, 2012
We are very excited about our phones. Looking forward to trying out the Bluetooth! I wish we had the money to be a Mega backer but glad we are able to be a small part of your start. Thanks for the opportunity.
Creator Sharon Cohen on May 8, 2012
Gerald Mounce: I love your idea of naming your grandchild "Migi"! By the way, it's actually a soft "g".
Creator Felipe Gordillo Corvalán on May 8, 2012
I support David Magne and many other, a little speaker for beeps would be an amazing change, it's easy and cheap, but it make a big difference
Creator Devonair on May 8, 2012
This was the one feature that I requested after making my pledge months ago. I am a very happy and content backer now =) ...although eventual support for Siri (for iPhone users) would be awesome, too -- letting us leave our phone in our pocket/bag/etc even more!
Creator Gary Lai on May 8, 2012
Will there be room for NFC?
Creator David Magno on May 8, 2012
Hi thanks for adding our request of Bluetooth 4.0 :) I agree with the others to include tiny speakers just for beeps, nothing fancy. It is a nice addition if we could here some notifications or alarm directly on the watch.
Keep the great work Pebble Team!
Creator Josh Hills on May 8, 2012
I've been eyeing this off for over 20 or so days, and finally with Bluetooth 4.0 it pushed me over the line and I just have to have it!!!!

@Leeor: I count 79925 currently allocated.
Creator Alex Dixon on May 8, 2012
As of right now, we're at 79838 Pebbles, so only about 5000 left to claim. Probably going to hit $10,000,000 with that!
Creator Dennis Hur on May 8, 2012
Great News! =D
Creator Leeor Engelstein on May 8, 2012
so by my count it looks like 95,000 pebbles have been allocated....or my math is wrong... I wonder what happens to the people who placed there order after the cut off
Creator Joseph Ong on May 8, 2012
More screen less bezel would be AWESOME as other comments here state!
Creator Peter Kando on May 8, 2012
THANK YOU FOR BLUETOOTH 4.0!!!!! haha that was my only set back! Although i do have some suggestions. As one backer stated "more screen less bezel" a bigger screen would make the watch wonderful and more useful! I would say its possible since you guys almost reached 10 million!!!!! Congrats on being the number one backed project :) Cheers!
Creator Melissa Kheh on May 8, 2012
I knew there was more to update 9. Way to keep me glued to pebble updates! Haha. Great work dream team!!
Creator Victor Andrade on May 8, 2012
Bluetooth 4.0 is definitely the right decisions for this product. I appreciate you guys listening to you consumers or soon to be... I know I will. RunKeeper is big step forward as well, this is project is coming together very nicely. I would like to add some feedback and provide some ideas for this watch. I am not sure how far in to production you guys are for these ideas to be taken into consideration. Seeing how only Ten Days are left, but id thought I'd put it out there. I know the watch will be waterproof and is in the presses for certification level > 3ATM and I endorse this. What I am no to fund of is the proprietary connection for charging/data transfers, and I know I am not alone. Most people suggest to use micro USB. I am aware of the reasoning behind the use of special I/O. I have read that because of the need to waterproof the watch there was also the need for a special USB port. I am aware of the process that is being used to making the watch waterproof. Id share something that could potently resolve the use of using a "special" connection on the watch. Earlier this year (CES time frame) I had stumbled across a company by the name of Liquipel (http://www.liquipel.com/). I saw a YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch…) of them at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and they were doing a demo of a me method they had developed to water poof smartphones. The showed a iPhone that had been treated with their special coating, and submerged it completely under water for a considerable amount of time with open ports and all (audio jack, 30 pin-connector ect.) Then they pulled it out and it was still functional. The company is located here in California and I was so impressed by this that I decided to go down to their facility and have my smartphone treated by Liquipel. And now my Smartphone is now waterproof. Another thing I wanted to comment on was the screen size. I have looked at some pictures of the Pebble and it look beautiful, my concern is that the Pebble should have more Screen and less Bezel. I say this because when the device is displaying a analog watch, the sides of that image is cut off and dose not look right. I suggest Minimizing the Bezels of the display a little more and this would in turn make the screen sizes a bit bigger. I bet most people would agree with a bigger screen. One last comment is on the same topic. It is stated that the Pebble has a scratch and shatter resistant lens with an anti-glare optical coating. My question is; Is this the "scratch and shatter resistant lens" Corning Gorilla Glass? And if not, Why? I would really appreciate your response to these comments. Any questions form me let me know ill be happy to answer them. Keep Up the great work.

@Koen As described in the update, effectively the BT module in the watch comes in two versions and they've just ordered the cleverer version, so the hardware upgrade has been made. Now the guesswork: they've already used the other version in their test prototypes so they've already got the software to drive normal BT, but now they need to improve the software as well to make use of BT4 - so first s/w release won't have it.
As to power - again, guesswork, but it depends upon on how much of the power budget is used by the BT radio: for example (and don't take these numbers seriously, they are simply junk for the sake of argument) if, during normal use (whatever that is) the display uses 95% of the battery power then reducing the draw from BT won't have a major effect.
Creator David McAfee on May 8, 2012
@Koen They are adding the hardware to support it but at first it shall remain dormant and not supported by the operating system until they update the software later down the track.
Creator Koen on May 8, 2012
How so is BlueTooth 4.0 not a battery saver? I understood this was thé selling point of BT4.0?
And how can you add it through software? I thought BT4.0 required new hardware?
Creator ConraDargo on May 8, 2012
Thumbs up! Awesome news for an already awesome product. Can't tell you how happy I am for you that this project has been receiving so much (well deserved!) attention and so many backers. A round of applauds to you! :D

This is great news!
You should check out this other Kickstarter project who is building Bluetooth 4 low energy Smart Beacons:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rowdyrobot/tod-connect-real-world-actions-to-mobile-devices-a
The combination of the two - for example proximity events on the watch when near a smart beacon - can be very interesting!
Creator Roger C. Rocha on May 8, 2012
Maybe an option to easily turn Bluetooth on and off might be a good idea. Sometimes we just need know the time. ;-)
