Update #11: First batch of paintings posted
Update #10: Okay, what next?
Hey everyone, thank you for sending pictures and info - I'm sorting through them now!
I've started putting together a thank you page that should be complete by the end of next week. There are a few people already listed, but I have a busy weekend, and I'll finish up next week. You can check it out here: http://katetownleysmith.com/wordpress/thanks/
In even better news, it looks like I can now transfer the funding into my own account! What does that mean? It means I can buy supplies! Yay! I've been anxious to get started, but then realized that I couldn't buy supplies until I actually had the funding in my account. So, I hope to place some supply orders next week (the website says 5 - 7 days for the transfer, we'll see!).
I've started a few paintings, and you know what? Small is pretty tough! But I love the challenge, and I'm so thankful to everyone for participating! This is going to be a fun, busy couple of months!
Update #9: Project Info with updated email
Ok, today I've been working on correcting a big mistake I made. The correct email address is: 100TinyHomes@gmail.com . I'm sorry if that caused you trouble.

Your URL (optional, but needed if you want a link!):
Please keep it PG-rated folks!

Special requests (I can do some limited special requests, but I prefer to paint based on what inspires me from your photos.):
If you pledged an amount for more than one painting, please list the sizes you would like (for example, if you pledged $151, do you want 1 12x12 and one 5x5, or 4 5x5s and 2 Artist Trading Cards? $7 ATC, $34 5x5, $117 12x12):
Photographs:
As you’ve (hopefully) seen, my work isn’t photorealism. And I hope that’s something you value! I love to capture unique features of a home, or the angle of the roof against the sky, or a view that means something to you. Please take 3 – 5 pictures of your home. If you can take photos of a ¾ view instead of head on, or of the roofline, or of that unique view, I think you’ll end up with a painting that reflects your own view of your home, rather than a portrait that may not have much personality. Email them to: __________________________
Some tips:
• 3 – 5 photos
• Morning or evening shots are best – they give the best shadows, and the light is prettiest
• Think about what part of your home made you stop and say, let’s look at this one – shoot that!
• Try shooting the roofline, or a corner of the house against the sky or trees
• Photograph the special features of your home – your really cool front door, your covered porch, that crazy jut out of a room, a dormer, whatever you’ve got!
• If you photograph identifying details like street names or house numbers, I will not include them in the paintings unless specifically requested. The painting that you don’t choose will be (somehow!) in a public exhibit, and I don’t want to cause anyone trouble!
Some additional information about the photos: You retain all copyright to your photos, as I retain all copyright to the paintings and images I create. By sending me these photos, you’re giving me the right to use them as source material for paintings for this project. I am also requesting to use these photos as source material for future paintings. Please let me know if you don’t want me to use them in the future (again, no address-identifying details will be painted).
Again, thank you! Watch for Kickstarter updates as well as updates on the Facebook page!
Update #8: You are all WONDERFUL!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The project is fully funded!
I was pretty nervous putting this out there into the world. I wasn't sure what would happen. It was exciting and nerve-wracking to see if I could get the project info out to the right people. I mean, I know this isn't for everybody. All the "Kickstarter advice" tips say to make your project short, like 30 days. Mine has 42 days, and they were right - a little too long. If I ever do it again (which I may...) I would make it shorter.
I promise to everyone that I'm going to work hard to paint the best paintings I can for you.
