Remember your first home? or, love the home you shared with 14 of your best friends in school? or, are you finally in the home of your dreams? I paint pictures of homes and would love to paint your home. Special homes need more than snapshots, they want to be painted!
You may have some questions...
So what is it you're doing?
For my project, I plan to paint at least 100 tiny 5" x 5" paintings of homes - these can be houses, apartment buildings, tepees, campers, cardboard boxes, tree-houses - for an exhibit. This exhibit will bring together a very physical representation of a group of homes of real people. This painted neighborhood won't have rows of similar houses like a subdivision. Instead, it will (hopefully) have a variety of housing styles and will physically represent an online group of people who participate in this project.
What's your plan of attack?
It all starts with you. You send me pictures of your home (or another special home), and I will paint two paintings inspired by your home - one for your reward, and one for the exhibit. Once the project is funded, I will complete the paintings, and get them mailed out to you ASAP, in time for the holidays! I will be sending out the exhibit proposals during this time too. Oh! and the best part is that you will get to choose which of the two you would like to keep as your reward for helping me out.
Where's all the money going?
Art supplies! My goal is to do at least:
100 5" x 5" paintings
8 12" x 12" paintings
2 16" x 20" paintings
That's a heck of a lot of canvas, paint, brushes, packaging, and mailing!
If I find good deals on paint, any extra funds will go towards other exhibit supplies for record keeping, promotion post-cards, that sort of thing.
What if I want to see the other homes?
You can! While I'll provide regular Kickstarter updates, I'll also update a Facebook page and invite everyone who participates. I'll post pictures of every house I paint for the project, and leave updates. Plus, you'll be able to chat around to each other too. I'm pretty interested to see if that happens!
So is that it?
That's the nutshell! But there's a BONUS too! If you help me exceed my goal by $340, then I'll send EVERYONE who contributes a bonus. That means if just 10 extra people pledge for a 5" x 5" painting*, everyone who contributes $1.00 or more will get a bonus original acrylic artist trading card. So, make a pledge to my project, and then send this link to your friends and tell them to pledge!
Why a bonus? More paintings for my exhibit = better exhibit in my opinion!

I’m a painter and calligrapher in Chattanooga, TN. I left the corporate life to become an artist, follow The Avett Brothers, and spend time with my hubby and toddler. After many false starts, I think I’m finally on the right path for me.
