I am writing a new piece for voice, electronics, and lighting. The piece uses a combination of hardware and software to create a total environment for the vocalist and the audience. This piece can be presented anywhere there is space and a blank white wall. In order to make the premiere performance happen, I need to purchase some additional lighting equipment.

You can see the first piece I wrote for dancer, electronics, and lighting entitled Waver here. I want to expand these ideas into a longer (20 minute) theatrical piece that incorporates vocal music, electronic music, and dynamic computer controlled lighting. The talented vocalist Anne Rhodes will be premiering the piece in Kitchener, Ontario in April.

I will do this using the open-source audio synthesis environment SuperCollider and the free lighting software MiniStageConsole. I have used SuperCollider for the past six years to make electronic music. I used MiniStageConsole to do the lighting for Waver.

Other costs include putting together the rewards and shipping them out to backers. Money pledged that takes us above our $350 goal will allow us to offset travel costs and possibly buy more/better equipment.
