I'm one member of a five-voice boy band called XY. We fuse bonafide rock with the soaring harmonies of jazz and R&B to create our own brand of fresh, tight, vocal-driven pop/rock. We like to think an XY show gives you everything you love about listening to a boy band without any of the shame.
The only problem is--as opposed to many boy bands and vocal groups--we perform with a full-on rock band behind us, which makes it tough to hear each other, even through the best stage monitors. Also, the wires from all of the mics and equipment interfere with our ability to move on stage.
That's why we've decided that in order to achieve our performance goals, we need to go WIRELESS! This means, with your help, we are hoping to invest in five Sennheiser e935 Series Wireless Mics ($1,000/each + tax), and five Sennheiser Wireless In-Ear Monitoring Systems ($1,000 + four additional bodypacks/earphones at $450/each + tax) so that we can take our harmonies to new heights! This gear combo is used by the likes of The Backstreet Boys on tour, and would be perfect for our group.
We were lucky enough to have our debut performance at The Viper Room in LA to a packed house, but despite the success of the night, it was apparent that to accommodate our sound needs, we were going to require a serious upgrade from our standard gear. Unfortunately, we spent every penny in our XY piggy bank this past summer to record and produce our first two songs, "Free" and "When I'm Asleep," leaving us unable to upgrade on our own.
So here we are, looking to step up our game so that we can bring a sonic revolution your way. If this project is successful we will finally be able to achieve our dream sound and take our band on the road. We want to invite you into our world, let you behind the curtain, and evolve with you.
