A few updates

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer :) I just wanted to share a few things that have been going on with Kordal.

First of all, we are officially attending the Capsule trade show! We will be exhibiting September 18th-20th with swimwear designer Lilibon. This will be a great opportunity to show the collection, meet with buyers and editors, and gather some industry contacts. We couldn't have done it with you!

Also, we just received the remaining samples from the factory today and they look beautiful! Our photo shoot is scheduled for this Friday morning and I can't wait to share the photos with all of you!

I am also excited to announce that the Kordal webite has gone live! With the help of my incredibly talented friend who created a beautiful website for the brand, we have been up and running for the past couple of weeks. You can check it out the website here!

Just sent out all of the thank you cards today! Tomorrow we will be shipping out bracelets and tote bags! Today I spent the afternoon filling out all of my thank you cards at a local coffee shop, it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Thank you again to everyone who donated to the project, you have truly helped us launch the Kordal brand!

Incentive Items!

Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much again for all of your contributions! I wanted to give you a few updates on the status of your incentive items and what has been going on with Kordal!

Updates on the Incentive Items... We just finalized the thank you cards and will have the final postcards ready early next week! We received the tote bags on Wednesday and they look really amazing! Once again I want to give a big thanks to Jeein for creating the beautiful illustration on the tote bag! If you want to see more of her work you can check out her blog here. I'm finishing up a couple of the knit blouses this week and we should be ready to ship everything in the next two weeks! 

Some things going on with Kordal... I'm wrapping up a 3 weekend intensive mini MBA course this week. The course was created this year by the Bloomberg administration and FIT as a way to help aspiring fashion design entrepreneurs and revive the New York City garment district. There were only 35 designers accepted into the program out of 200 applications. During the DENYC program I'm getting the opportunity to meet with industry professionals and work one on one with a mentor while writing my business plan! It has been a great experience so far, and I will have the opportunity to present my business plan at the end of the summer to a group of panelists.

We received our first set of samples with our New York based factory this week and they look wonderful! The samples are for a collaboration with the swimwear brand Lilibon. Kordal is creating knit cover ups to be paired with the swimwear and we couldn't be happier with the way they turned out! We are having a photo shoot in early July, and I will send an update when we receive the photos!

We are still working on Spring '13 samples and should be posting some development photos over the course of the next month! So for all of you that donated for a Spring '13 piece you will have to wait a little bit longer for your incentive item, but you will have your choice of anything from the collection!
