I take back what I said earlier :)
"ORION: Dino Beatdown will be launching on both Steam and OnLive on Friday, April 20th, 2012 for $9.99 USD."
That is AWESOME
Yeah. I'm interested in where it's at now with Dino Beatdown is in dev.
I'm excited for this game :3 Do you guys have any further publicity plans for this? I had a few ideas if I may suggest them
@Anthony - no problem at all. Before some of the previous comments I just expected no one to even be visiting this page as the campaign was over. Then I quickly realized my updates are tied to backers so its a fast, easy way to communicate directly with them (you). So to everyone - my bad and expect all updates to be posted here. In fact we are going to have something incredible to show shortly after American Thanksgiving (this week) - so stay tuned ;)
Thanks for the update postings, I missed some of them :)
So this is why I suddenly got a mountain of updates in my email!
I didn't know you guys had a Twitter (though it was obvious), so now I'm following you there. Please continue posting the updates here as well. :)
@Alex Greene. I've added all updates from SpiralGameStudios.com that have not been posted here. There has been plenty of progress and things are still very much on track for 2012. We are about to hit Alpha status and new footage will be emerging shortly after Thanksgiving showing all of the final weapons, new vehicles, playable dinosaurs, new game modes, new worlds and plenty of other tidbits.
That being said, we show even smaller updates in the Spiral Community for the hardcore fans. You will see never-released footage, images and information here:
http://spiralforums.com/viewforum.php…
Hope to see you there ;)
I'm happy that I gave $10 unlike Max.... but I do agree this is annoying that there really aren't any updates. I remember being told the game would debut in early 2012, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. So I'm disappointed that there is not even a single bit of release date info. For all I know it when come out until 3 years from now. And saying you just finished an internal build is not enough. You should be giving info to the people who gave you money, and more than a few pictures and skimpy video at that. Hopefully you can change my opinion.
It is unfortunate that you feel that way as we have been publishing more updates and showing more progress in these last 3 months than we ever have before.
Check out:

I'm starting to think I threw 10 bucks away... No updates, a lot of crazy rumors.
This sucks.
Is there any more info on a launch date, or month?
ANy news on the Beta?
Jealous austin :P Well i'll be happy with the in-game stuff (since i imagine posting to austalia would be hefty) but getting closer and closer to get our hands on the beta! :D
@Victoria - we are sending them out today as well as posting the press release :)
@Austin - that was fast!
Got my T-shirt and Artwork sweet! But I still cant wait for the beta.
Have you sent out the items for the $10 level pledge? I didn't receive anything. I checked under M. Prassel's name and under Kickstarter and Orion
@Randomacts
May the Fourth be with you, too.
@Alex
We sent an email out to everyone in mid-to-late April. Unfortunately the order was already purchased for the T-Shirts (exact number to the responses). However if you email me I can see what we can do about artwork if there is any extra / left over.
The game is scheduled for an early 2012 release. But don't forget about the PC Multiplayer Beta coming this year.
Hi, I was wondering when you are planning on releasing the game. I just read the comments below, and after checking my inbox, I never received an email since update #22 on March 25th. If it's too late, I guess I don't really mind much about the personalized card, but oh well....
Ok cool, almost felt like I was being scammed good to hear that you are holding your end of the deal.
Oh and happy star wars day.
@Joseph
I confirmed the T-Shirt order a week or more ago. They are FINALLY going to arrive (supposedly) on May 5th. The artwork has been printed as well. So you should expect them relatively soon :)
should I have gotten some my t-shirt or other things yet? I gave my shipping info the first message I got for it.
Yeah, I replied as soon as I read it. :D
@Jared
Did you receive an email from Michael Prassel? He sent one out to all KickStarter contributors to grab all info and a tally so we could make the order. Make sure to send that in asap as the cut-off for it was last night.
But to answer your question, we will be placing the orders mid day on Tuesday. Should be sent out and arrived within a week or two (as it has to come here and get sent back out).
I cannot wait to wear my t-shirt. Any ETA?
We have dispatched an email to all KickStarter contributors. Make sure you respond so we can include your order!
So excited for the game! It keeps looking better and better!
After exploring the internet and getting an email from David I really have no reason to believe its fraud, so if you are a donor stumbling upon this drama that is strung out on the internet just email them for more info.
As for the team, Its just a road bump and I am looking forward to more updates :)
*If any donators have any questions or desires to know more about the recent events - we encourage you to contact us at info@spiralgamestudios.com

Hey. Make sure you all have a look at these threads to see where orion is headed.
Im afraid this project is a fraud.

Hey Jeremy,
We appreciate your looking out / well-being for other folk - its both respectful and noble of you.
However, the thread listed there is a complete fabrication of actual events and a violation of a corporate contract.
However, the VP of Spiral Game Studios responded to it which states the facts:
Michael Prassel, VP of Operations - Spiral Game Studios:
"I would like to address this thread and also offer myself to answer any questions about Spiral Game Studios. I'm the Vice President of the company and I take all of these issues very seriously.
Daniel had been with Spiral for 1.5 years and provided very quality work. He did this work on the understanding it was for free and that he could use it to build his portfolio to get other work. We will always credit Daniel with the work he has done and truly appreciate the stuff he has done for us.
We were featured on Kickstarter and were able to raise a good amount of money to fund a build that we could show off at GDC. We had some intense deadlines and Daniel was scheduled to receive a good amount of money for his assignments for GDC. He had other things going on in his life and could not complete them on time so we had to find others who could. We found other artists and got the assignments done on time.
As our company grows and needs to meet more deadlines we need to find people who are able to complete the work on time. If someone cannot meet the deadlines or there are external factors preventing them from doing so, we have to part ways just like any other company would do.
In regards to Javid (Sn1pe) not getting paid he was also never let go from the company. David and I just got back from GDC on March 5 and received the money from Kickstarter in early March. We are still planning on paying him (and the others who completed work for our GDC build) for his work assuming he hasn't left the company.
If anyone has any questions regarding Spiral Game Studios or any of its policies, please email me at mprassel@spiralgamestudios.com or post a reply to this.
I hope this clears up any confusion or doubt in our company. Thank you for your time."
It is simply the act of disgruntled employees. If this was the overall case of the "experience of Spiral" - I don't think I, the game, or the company would be where we are. For every outbreak like this, we have a handful of happy employees that could counter-converse all of these statements.
It's the internet - take it with a grain of salt.
But again, good looking out for peers - very respectable.
I'd look at this before you pledge any more.

We just landed from San Fransisco a few days ago for GDC which was wildly successful and beneficial for us. We are now getting ready for PAX East in Boston.
If there are any of you that are going or in the area - I'd love to show you what we have on hand (new game build).
Otherwise, we will be organizing all KickStarter gifts and sending out the week after and wrapping up through March. We apologize about the delay - but we definitely haven't forgotten. We unfortunately just timed the ending of the event with two of the biggest conferences - whoops!
@Kay
For any of the $100 donors - you get to pick your platform of choice upon the games release. So if you choose Steam - we will either gift it to you personally or give you a code to redeem it. This will also apply for XBLA and PSN.
Will there be a way to get the game from the pledge benefit activated on steam? :) That would be really awesome
Btw it seems like a really cool game :)
Hello all I just looked on this site and i can really understand has this game comed out yet or just the BETA or will it come soon?
Yey! Congrats all :D
Congratulations to David and thanks to all the backers. Good Luck!
Way to go guys.
Congratulations, Spiral! Good luck at GDC!
I'll be sure to send money in paypal if and when I can.
Our KickStarter promtoion has just ended! Thank you to all supporters, contributors and spreaders - we cannot thank you enough for the huge role you have played in these last 30 days. With your immense support and encouragement we have successfully raised just shy of $18,000 and already have 20 meetings scheduled for GDC. We cannot thank you enough - you guys are badass.
We will be releasing details tomorrow about details for gifts and when you can expect them and the immediate future.
:D
Awsome!
Don't spend it all in one place now!
Woot!
Agh, finally got the $100 put in. :)
