Hi Cecily - You may not remember when we met, but I am one of your Dad's collection of strange friends. I have done a few road trips like this and have great memories! Most were before blogs were discovered, but I always kept a journal and sometimes look them over ... This is an awesome idea. I participate in something called Postcrossing where you basically send postcards to other Postcrossing members around the world and receive back postcards from other Postcrossing members. And, each postcard arrives as a surprise. You never know who you'll select to send to and they don't know it's coming until it arrives.
You might consider going to Postcrossing.com and joining (its 100% free) and them maybe posting in the forums about your project.
