Update #2: Getting things rolling :)
Hi everyone,
Some news: we've been uploading lots of still pics and video clips to Facebook. Also, we've set up a Liberation the Musical page on Facebook; you can visit the page at:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Liberation-the-Musical/160060087420121
It's been an interesting few days... for me, it's been a matter of both learning how to navigate Facebook, and figuring out ways to promote the Kickstarter campaign. Good times really, and interesting... learning a lot and having fun.
I also wanted to mention, if any of you have thoughts about ways to let the world know about this Kickstarter campaign, beyond what we're doing on Facebook and through email, I'd love to hear 'em. Feel free to email me at Nilsosmar@gmail.com, and to spread the word to your own contacts. Thanks for all you do.
- Nils
Update #1: An interview with Gabriel (very short!)
Going into the fifth day of our Kickstarter campaign... so far so good :) If all of you would be kind enough to keep spreading the word about it to your friends, that would be much appreciated.
Here's an interview with Gabriel Land, the lead actor in Liberation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NSC6ok2WHE

I was born in Alaska, in a wilderness area on the southern coast. I now live in Washington state, where I draw, write, teach and make movies.
I've always loved fantasy, science fiction and musicals. I grew up watching musicals like THE MUSIC MAN and WEST SIDE STORY. WEST SIDE STORY was a revelation because of the dark and complex subject matter; it showed that musicals don't have to deal with "safe" or frivolous themes, and can be more powerful and express things that more mainstream films don't. I also loved reading science fiction and fantasy, particularly writers like Heinlein, Silverberg and Leguin. My favorite movies include ALIEN and ALIENS, BLADERUNNER and the (original 1970s) STAR WARS films.
When I wasn't reading SF novels, watching movies, and reading comic books, I was writing and drawing my own. In the 1980s, I published a line of independent science fiction comic books, in a realistic fantasy style (fun times!) In the 90s, I wrote and directed a series of stageplays in Seattle, also on fantasy themes. In 1995, I published a book of science fiction stories called The Hungry Time. In 2001 I started making movies, and have since had several shorts in film festivals. You can watch clips from my movies on IMDB; just click the IMDB link below.
