Renegade economist Amanda McCloud has the answer to America’s widening income gap: concubinage.

This project is a satirical live presentation by a fictitious economist, Amanda McCloud.

Amanda's a renegade in her field, with a plan for fixing one of America's most pressing economic problems: income inequality. Her solution? A very modern form of… concubinage. The idea has garnered lots of controversy, with everyone from NOW to the Knights of Columbus to the 99% movement weighing in against it. But Amanda’s never had a chance to fully make her case. This presentation is her chance. Armed with data, charts, graphs, and dramatic life-changing stories, she is out to persuade the audience that the rich aren’t so different when they're forced to get close — real close — to the rest of us.

Amanda's debut will be at Dixon Place on the Lower East Side of NYC, at 7:30 PM on May 8. She doesn't have that many options. TED talks rejected The Ultimate Stimulus out of hand, despite the rigor, graphics, and cogent arguments she offers.

Following the Dixon presentation we will further refine the piece (and its multimedia projections) for future performances. We'd love to eventually go on the road with this and transform America's thinking on this issue.

Your money will go to

*Paying our projections designer - he's creating a small world with the projections, some of which will include motion graphics.

*Rehearsal space

*Videographer for our first show

*Promotional material

*Stipend salaries for playwright, director & actress

Any money beyond our budget will go to further development-related costs, and possibly travel expenses.

His other work has been staged at Theater for the New City, Bowery Poetry Club, Williams Club, Dixon Place and other venues.

Performer - Tanya O'Debra is Amanda McCloud. She’s a New York performance artist whose award-winning one-woman show Radio Star has been performed across the country to rave reviews and enthralled audiences. There’s more, a lot more, on her website.

He has also worked on many product launches and in-house videos for companies such as VW, Toyota, Verizon, Dell, and HP. You can see some of his videos here.
