The record release party was a big success and I just wanted to share with you guys the pictures I took.

Everything is ready for you guys but unfortunately I am out of NYC until March 26th so I can't get anything sent out until I get back. I gave some of the records to my friend Ryan who has helped a bunch on this record. He is going to be mailing out the records for people who donated at the $25 and $35 levels. Everyone else who donated gets something more than just records so I have to take care of that stuff personally when I get back.

This is it! This album is here! I pick it up on Wednesday and the release party is this Saturday. We even have a flyer!

I also wanted to update you on the shipping situation. I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that I am leaving town for over a month and I am only going to have about three days between when I get back this weekend and when I leave for my trip. This means there is a pretty good chance I am not going to be able to ship out 70 records before I leave. So it might be late March/ early April before you get this record. I am gonna do what I can to ship everything out before I leave but I can't promise anything. 

All that being said, the good news is really good news. I am going to send ALL THREE records to EVERYONE who ordered a record. That means if you donated at least $25 you are going to be receiving in the mail, not just the double LP tribute album but BOTH of Ross' solo albums Symphony & Calcutta. I think $25 for all three records is a pretty damn good deal and I hope it makes up for the wait.

I'll see a bunch of you guys this weekend and I will put the records in your hand. I am so excited about all this and I hope you are too. 

On Saturday February 25th we are going to be doing a release party for not just the tribute album but all three albums at Strange Matter in Richmond. Strange Matter used to be Nanci Raygun the club that the Gaskets really came up in. It seemed like the only place to have the show.

We are going to have WRIR's Shannon Clearly open the night playing tracks from all three albums as well as other music he will be selecting that he finds relevant to Ross and his life. Shannon did a full hour on the radio shortly after Ross died that was dedicated to his memory. Shannon also contributed a track to the album so I thought he would be perfect to get thing started.

After that Jim O'Brien and Schnitzel will be playing a set of Gaskets covers. Jim did a set of Gaskets covers to open the Gaskets Loose Change CD release party and followed that up with a few more performances as a Gaskets cover band so we are really glad to have them reform for this party. Jim's cover of Ross' song I Don't Need Your Symphony is also the opening track to the tribute album. 

After Jim the Novios/Rabbits mashup that contributed three songs to the tribute album will be performing a full set of Ballpoint Pens covers including the three songs from the record. They were all close friends of Ross and Ross used to get up and sing Nine Times Out of Ten with the Rabbits when they covered his track ages ago. They killed it at the fundraiser for this album and I could not be happier to have them back. 

Lastly to close out the night Ross' best friend and Gaskets partner Teddy Blanks will be performing his first set in Richmond since the Gaskets broke up. He will be doing songs from his upcoming solo record as well as some old favorites. Teddy has done some solo shows in the past but this should be a little different and I think everyone is going to be pretty excited about it.

The event should also have a few surprises and we will have the records on sale really cheap. $15 for the tribute and $10 each for his solo records or $30 for all three. All the money we raise will go towards a scholarship fund in Ross name or to release more stuff to help remind people of our dear friend.

Hey guys it's been a while since I have updated this but we have been busting our asses getting this project off the ground. We got some new tracks added to the record, got everything mastered, Teddy Blanks did some amazing art and finally shipped everything off. We raised so much money both on Kickstarter and off line that we have some big surprises in store for everyone who ordered a copy of the record. I don't want to give anything away yet but I promise you are going to be really excited when you get your packages in the mail. 

But the big announcement is that we are planning a big record release party in Richmond, VA. The Gaskets really came up playing shows at the Nanci Raygun at 929 W. Grace Street so I thought no better place to do it would be at Strange Matter which is the current venue standing at 929 W. Grace. The show is on February 25th which is the last Saturday in Feb.  We don't have exact times or details yet but we wanted to give you guys some advance notice so any out of towners can make plans to be there. 

I will tell you that we are going to have Jim O'brien performing some Gaskets material, Novios performing some Ballpoint Pens material and Teddy Blanks playing for the first time in Richmond since The Gaskets broke up. It should be an amazing show... plus it's going to be completely free!

If anyone knows for sure they are going to be at the show could you please let me know so I can give you your record in person to save on shipping? That would help us a lot and have more money left over to donate to a scholarship fund in Ross' name.

Lastly, I promised some surprises but I wanted to at least show you one thing that I had made up. I had 500 ballpoint pens made up that actually say Ballpoint Pens on them. I thought it was a hilarious idea and I will be giving them out at the release party and sending them in the mail assuming they fit in the packages...

Hello everyone! 

I just wanted to give you guys a little info about where this project is headed. We are currently remastering the album since we added a five new tracks to it. The art is being designed as we speak and the whole thing should be sent off to get made by the beginning of the new year. 

We have booked a release party for the record and I can't tell you too much about it yet but it will be in Richmond, VA on the last Saturday of February. So if you are interested in coming to what should be an amazing event you can start planning now.

I am sending out address requests for anyone who just ordered a CDR of the record so maybe you can get them by Christmas. For everyone else I will be sending out the address requests closer to having the records in  hand. 

Lastly to warm your home for the holidays here is a Christmas tune from our old friend Ross. It's called My Seed from the album Symphony. Enjoy.
