Mudson is a works-in-progress performance series at the Masonic Temple in SLC. Modeled after the historic performances at Judson church, it supports young choreographers artistic process as they transition from university settings into their professional performing careers and provides ample options to show the work in informal settings before showings in larger venues.
Our organization (see our profile for more info) has rented the temple and fundraised for fees related to insurance and rental. What we need is some dough to pay our artists a fair fee. Copying Judson church (again) we have the goal of giving eleven young artists 50 bucks each. 50 bucks helps pay for their bus tickets, their rehearsal space, their costumes and the cost of downloading their sound-scores on i-tunes. It's not a lot of cash but for young artists it offsets the cost of showing their work and that's huge.
